Today is Thanksgiving and my 6 month old son had his first taste of sweet potatoes......well a couple bites would have been more than plenty!!!But his daddy didn't know or realize that, I guess, because he said my son had approximately 10-12 bites of mashed sweet potatoes, plus I gave him 2 bites of regular mashed potatoes about 10 minutes before that...I am scared, because my boy hasn't eaten that much adult food at once ever. I tried giving him the gas relief drops, no help.....He is just screaming in pain and I don't know what I should do.....any advice would be GREATLY APPRECIATED>>>>>thanks!!

This is my 3rd child so I should know this. My husband is freaked out because I haven't started, should I be too? Two days ago I felt cramps and had a bad headache, so I thought it was my period, wrong! He's scared I'll get pregnant again, should I be worried too? These has put a damper on our relationship. What do I do? I have 3 children and don't need another. But we have had sex since she was born and without protection. I took a test 2 days ago and it was negative. Some one help me please!!!!

My son is 4 months old. How long do I need to wait before I can feed him solid foods. My wife wants to give him stuff like gravy, mash potatoes, soft stuff. I am not for sure if it is safe yet or not. If you know, please explain the reasoning why I can or can not feed him food like she wants to feed him.

Thanks

Do you think that having an unusual or unique name causes many problems for children? Do you think it makes a child more prone to teasing by their peers, or is it better to have a more distinguished and memorable name throughought their life? If you were going to name a child (or choose your own name) would you choose a popular or rare name?

Has any one else had a baby allergic to LUVS diapers? I switched from Pampers because LUVS are cheaper and my son kept breaking out into what looked like hives only in his diaper area. I just switched back to Pampers today and hopefully things will get better.

I don't get how milk comes out of girls' nipples. But anyway, why do guys have them if they don't do anything?

My 21/2 month old baby cries until I lift her. If I try to put her down again, she starts crying. This stops me from doing anything else. Just curious, how many hours in a day do mothers out there hold their child in an given day?

Why don't mothers just give their babies normal cow milk? Is there a special purpose for feeding babies their mother's breast milk?

I decided to breastfeed my 5 week old because she had problems at birth w/swallowing maconium. i am no longer able to pump that much milk (i pumped and bottlefed, only breastfed at night.) to feed my baby. her tummy is so sensitive that she cannot take formula well. i have been mixing whatever breastmilk i can pump (about 2 oz. every 2 hours) w/2 oz. of Enfamil for fussiness and gas formula. she hates it. She barely drinks that, she screams at night of colic. the drs. are not helping me in this much. I am at wits end. what can i do to help my baby w/this transition? what formula can i use for my sensitive baby that she can and will take? i am ready to rip all of my hair out! she seems so miserable. she was so happy when she was just on the breast milk. i don't know what to do anymore. please help me........

We have a 11 week old and I think I can see a tooth coming through. Its the lower one in the middle. She has been crying, drooling, and bitting on things. If it is teething what can we do to relieve some of the discomfort?

When I had my daughter, the guidelines for starting solid foods were 4-6 months. I now have a 5 month old son who is giving me every indication that he is ready for more than breast-milk. He's grabbing for our food, making chewing motions with his mouth, crying whenever we eat, and he can sit upright.

What's more, he's now only pooping once a week and wanting to eat every 1 1/2 to 2 hours (after being on a very good 4 hour schedule for about 2 months).

I really want to make an informed decision about starting solids, but I can't find any information regarding why the guidelines have been changed. Can anyone tell me what benefit there is in waiting until 6 months?
