We have a 11 week old and I think I can see a tooth coming through. Its the lower one in the middle. She has been crying, drooling, and bitting on things. If it is teething what can we do to relieve some of the discomfort?

My son got his first tooth at 4.5 months, but it can really happen at any time. Some babies are even born with teeth.
The average is 4-6 months if a remember correctly.

It is entirely possible that your 11 week old is, in fact, cutting teeth. My daughter got her first tooth when she was only 3 months old. She proceeded to get an additional tooth each month there after until she had them all in! She started to lose her teeth when she was only 4. She had all of her adult teeth by the time she was 9 and now at only 12 years old has already had her braces removed after 2 1/2 years! The only downfall of these kids who get their teeth so early is that they have weaker teeth. So, my advice to you would be to get her in to a pediodontist (Children's dentist) soon. You could contact one and ask when they would like to see her.

Two of my three children did not get teeth until they were 13 months old but that is unusual. It sounds to me like she is getting her first teeth and you should be able to get something from a drug store/pharmacy that you can rub on her gums if she will let you. The teething rings that you put in the freezer also seem to help. Don't be surprised if she gets a cold or diarrhoea as this is also a symptom of teething but don't let these symptoms go unchecked by a doctor for too long.
