A baby in the womb gets all its needs provided for through the umbilical cord including its need for oxygen so it does not breath while in the womb...

Before birth a baby will sometimes move the amniotic fluid in and out of its lungs and mouth but since the umbilical cord is still attatched it is only practicing the muscle motions involved in breathing and not actually breathing..

Think of the umbilical cord as an oldfashion diving hose with all the needs of the diver (baby) provided through the hose...

Babies don't actually breathe as such. They receive all the oxygen they need through the blood from the mother via the umbilical cord - the mouth and nasal cavity is filled with fluid - the lungs don't start actually working until birth. Your lungs are just a device to get oxygen into your blood and this is circumvented in a foetus.

While the baby is in the womb, it is not breathing air and using its lungs. It is getting all the oxygen from the umbilical cord. Since it is not using its lungs, it will not suffocate.

It does inhale the fluids. The baby doesn't need air while in the womb--it needs oxygen, like everyone else, but it gets it's oxygen from the mother, not from air.

Are you joking?
They don't breathe air in the womb. Their oxygen comes through the umbilical cord in the blood. They do "practice" breathing with the fluid though.

The baby does breath in the amniotic fluid. They continually swallow the fluid to practice breathing. Until they are born they are made to do this.

The baby does not breathe while inutero. The baby is fed and oxygenated through the umbilis. Either you are VERY VERY VERY young or you weren't paying attention during your highschool science classes, I suggest you go back to school and pay attention this time.

The baby doesn't breathe in the womb....first of all, how would air get inside and carbon dioxide expelled?

Babies get the oxygen and nutrients they need through the umbilical cord. That is why babies can be born under water and not choke.
