I was thinking of starting a home daycare (I have 2 kids of my own), however my husband and I are worried about possibly being sued for negligence if a child happens to get a boo boo. Has anyone ever heard of a home daycare being sued. Also, if I am sued (and god forbid i lose), can my home be seized in the suit?

She is 10 days old and has been eating Similac Advanced formula which is what they were giving her in the hospital. I'm not breast feeding b/c it was so painful and I wasn't producing enough for her to eat. So we gave her formula in the hospital but I was giving some breast milk. I stopped the breast milk about 3 days ago and now this started yesterday. Her stool is firm and less frequent - how can I help her?

He has had two incidents of diahrroea- treated wth antibiotics. but during both cases, even after completing the course his stool remained green, watery, with pus and foam. I have introduced semi solid (once daily) now and this had made the stool a little more thick now, however pus and foam are still seen and the color is green. Also, whenever we give him Lactogen I he gets severe flatulence, vomiting, and then indigested milk in the stool.

Should I use them or no? I know that is his way of exploring but if I just use them before naps or bed wouldn't he sleep better? His top front teeth are coming in and they are giving him lots of trouble. He has 5 teeth already and none have given him this much pain. He has a fever, runny nose, I brought him in and Dr said Dimeatapp??? if needed but that does nothing for his pain. I give him motrin and tylenol switch them around. Motrin at nite cuz it lasts longer and tylenol if he has fever during the day. Would you use the gels?

I have a 7 week old boy and he eats every 3-3 1/2 hours, but lately he has been acting hungry about every 1 1/2 hours and only eats about one ounce. My mom told me that I should give him a couple ounces of water in between feedings when he gets "hungry" like that. Is it too early for me to be giving him water?

Many American women refuse to breastfeed Why is this? There are no *cons for a healthy mum to Breastfeed.

The antibodies in breast milk help babies fight infection.
Colostrum is an ideal first food, higher in protein and minerals and lower in fats and carbohydrates than breast milk.
Breast milk helps safeguard against the development of allergies (and MANY other medical issues).
Breast milk is easily digested.
Breast milk changes to fit the changing needs of a growing baby. (Mother's milk for preemies is even different than mother's milk for a full-term baby.)
Breastfeeding helps develop a closeness between mom and baby.

Women experience an absence of menses.
shorter duration of uterine bleeding, helps the uterus return to its pre pregnancy state faster.
prevents breast cancer.
quicker weight loss.
bonding with the baby.
the positives greatly out weighed the negatives and i love my child enough to realize that.
* for the baby.

Earlier while looking out the window I saw my neighbor do something that really shocked me. He was outside with his infant son in the yard and his son was crawling around in the grass. Then his dad got up, grabbed his baby's hand, and walked around to the backyard. I don't really know how to desrcribe it but it looked painful. Like the dad was standing up and holding the baby's hand and the baby was like dangling while his dad walked around to the backyard. The first thing that came to my mind was--that baby's arm is going to come out of it's socket! Like it would be like reaching up and grabbing on something and dangling there. It was really weird. Is that child abuse or child endangerment? I'm sorry, I've just never seen someone walk around with their child like that. Please let me know if I should talk to my neighbor or something because I would feel terrible if that baby's arm really did come out of it's socket or something :(
