ok im a certified babysitter on monday....any tips for being a great babysitter??

The living room is where all of his toys are but when I bring him to play he starts crying. His room doesn't have as many toys but he would rather play in there and the bathroom, which really has no toys.. Any suggestions?

When he is in his crib he is up almost every hour. He has learned how to pull himself up and cannot get back down yet on his own, so he screams until I pick him up. He is a restless sleeper. I thought more solids would help, but is not helping. I take him to another room to nurse or rock he back to sleep, because he cannot fall back to sleep on his own. After I put him back down, he sometimes is up again 20 minutes later. He is not happy unless he is between mommy and daddy in our bed. There he sleeps great. I am not getting enough sleep and I have a 2 year old too who I get frustrated with because I am so sleep deprived.
I would like anyones input. I have tried ferberizing that is not really working. He will cry for hours if I let him. I can't listen to him cry for that long. We want to move him into his brothers room soon and I am afraid he is going to mess up my 2 year olds sleep schedule which is wonderful.
Please help any advice would great!

My husband and I are going away in about a week for 8 days and are leaving my 8 month old with her grandma. She won't drink from a bottle, sippy cup or straw. I mix formula with her cereal twice a day but I am afraid this isn't enough milk for her in a day. I have been trying to wean her and during the day she is fine but at night she wants to nurse a lot. I'm getting very anxious about leaving her. Any help?

I have a 4 month old baby who wont sleep at night! I think she might be teething but I have tried everything. We only got one hour sleep last night!! Anyone have any suggestions that might help us get more sleep. We have tried tylonel, feeding her pablum, teething gel, warm baths before she goes to bed, i dont know what to do anymore. Im very sleep deprived and Im dealing with Post Partum Depression at the same time!!!! I need help

My best friend just gave birth to my Godchild yesterday via emergency c-section.
She had a very tough pregnancy and I want to do something for her. I will see her later today.
When I had my children a lot of people brought me hand lotions and things. I want to do the same for her but I wanted to get some other ideas.

My son has his 3 month jabs today - what side effects have other people witnessed in their babies after this?

Also, what temperature should you administer calpol at if he starts to show signs of a fever?

the doc said to start baby on chicken and fish, but even though I puree the boiled meats they tend to be a wee bit stringy and that makes my 8 month old gag. I want to start finger foods too but with this gag reflex I am wondering how to get to the stage of lumpy/chinky food first. She hasnt gotten a tooth yet, so I make sure everything is smooth but still she almost throws up, sad part is sometimes she actually likes what she is eating but the stringiness bugs her. What do you other moms do differently?

Well my baby has just started solids. When my boyfriend's mom found out she bought some baby food for my daughter for when she's at her house. The thing is that I dont feel that that was necessary. I think that I should be able to send what I want my daughter to eat and how much whens she's there. Im basically concerned that she will be getting too many fruits because I dont plan on giving her much....at least not yet. Im concerned that they will be giving her alot of baby food instead of her milk.

I've been trying to "teach" her to make sounds, and she repeats a lot of them, and it looks like she's chatting with me or the person who does that to her.
Isn't she too little to be doing this?
I thougth only older babies were able to do this.

A few years back I fell at work and fractured my lower back and ever since then my doctor has had me on Vicodin ES for the pain and physical therapy on and off. 4 different doctors(all knowing i was pregnant) told me that it was safe for baby as long as it's not abused. I am 37 weeks pregnant and i only take a half a pill every 3 hours or longer so i am NOT abusing this drug but i'm afraid that my baby will be born addicted or they will drug test me and take the baby away even though it WAS percribed to me. Can they do this? I tried to stop taking the pills no matter what the doctor told me for the baby and the pain got so bad that I couldn't get off of my couch. So I had to go back on them. I called the hospital and asked them about their drug testing procedures and they said that only if the mother has already tested positive or if they suspect drug abuse towards the baby. Would they concider a perscription a drug? Please help.

I just want to name my future daughter with these rules:
First, for her first name, the first letter should be J
Second, for her middle name, the first letter should be O
And the third, for her last name, the first letter should be Y...
Would you help me??? So if it is shorted her name become J.O.Y.
