I have a friend that is going to have a baby. She has the name picked if it is a boy, but is stuck in the girl`s name. She wants to have a unique name for the girl but isn`t sure where to find one. So does anyone here have a website or a book that she can use to pick a unique name?

The doctor prescribed Nystatin and the info sheet I got with the prescription said it caused nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach upset. Please tell me, those of you who've used this with your babies, that these side effects do not occur very often...makes me almost not want to give it to her! If these symptoms did occur with any of your babies, how bad was it, and what did you do for it? Health food store did not carry gentian violet, by the way. Thx!

I've picked out a few things, but it seems that everything besides onsies, gowns and sleepers might irritate the umbilical nubby. I really wanted to put her in an actual outfit for pictures and stuff, but I just don't want her little belly button to be irritated by it. It's a little onsie with a skirt that goes over it (with an elastic waistband). What do you think? What did you dress YOUR baby in?

Thanks,
Mandy

she is 3 and a half months old, what are the pros and cons of doing it now vs. 1yr old, and if i did it now what are the chances for her to end up pulling them out and hurting her ear because the backs screw on instead of clicking on?

What's next from these people? A warning label on disposable diapers? Wow. I wish I had this much time on my hands to give 1/4 of a damn about what other people feed their kids:

Example: duchenne muscular dystrophy, the child can't move any of its muscles once they were 10-12 years old. The child would be alive, but he wouldn't be able to enjoy the same things a normal child would be able to. Would you have an abortion/tell your wife to have an abortion?

My baby boy doesn't like to eat for very long at all. He keeps falling asleep and then finally doesn't want to wake back up to eat at all. And then he wants to eat again a half hour later. I want to know if there is anything i can do to get him to eat more at one time. It's very painful for me to have to feed him that often. I am starting to crack and bleed again and scab up. I have lanolin that i put on but it doesn't seem to help that much. Also it hurts very badly to feed him, sometimes it feels like somebody is taking a knife to my nipples. Again, very painful. Please help...

By the way for those of you who remember me asking questions while I was pregnant and tried to help me with names for him I named him Aiden Oscar. He was born 7/27 at 8:02 PM and weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz. and was 21 inches. I was in labor for 33 long hrs.

My husbands side of the family has given my 10 month old son a nickname I hate. How do I get them to stop using it without being rude? They've been calling him it since he was bor, so I feel like it's to late to say anything now.

(or do you already refuse?)
If you found out that certain vaccines actually are harmful and have irreversible effects, for example I read that the poolio vac. is linked to autism. Not only that! this article informed me of how this same vac. is what cause the AIDS outbreak in Africa back in the days, apparently the monkey they used to make the vac. had some blood that was "bad" and it backfired on humanity. How sad.

I aint a bad cook, I am actually quite good (so says my friends, family and hubby). But when i try to give my 8.5 month daughter some home cooked nutritious food she spits it out. She prefers the baby food jars. But then she eats when we go to restaurants, she ate when we went to my Godsons christening, and she seems to eat when her dad cooks for her. Yesterday I cooked and her dad fed it to her and she ate it but i reckon if I had fed her she wouldnt have eaten it... i dunno maybe i am paranoid

I dont want her getting used to processed food which is what I am having to feed her... any tips guidance, i am getting exasperated!

I recently read an article about formula fed babies who, during their first week of life, gained weight very quickly and consequently were more apt to become obese as adults. Now, i'm exclusively breastfeeding, every three hours usually (sometimes less) and my 8 day old newborn (8lbs 10 oz) has already exceeded her birth weight by four ounces. I thought she would have lost weight because she doesn't have a very good latch. I should note that I am also overweight (with continuously improving habits). Have any of you had a newborn who gained weight very quickly? Are they experiencing weight problems now? I want to believe that this research is bunk and that weight still comes down to calories in/calories out.

There is a good chance that my wife is going to deliver our daughter premature (she is at 30 weeks now). Someone told her that premature babies need to stay away from other babies for a year because of some lung sickness they can catch. Is this true? At what age is it safe for them to start daycare?

When I read it, I automatically thought Juh-NAI-yuh
with the more stressed part sounding like 'eye' only with an 'n' in front of it. I would like you know what you all think.

Thanks!

I am a stay-at-home mother of a 7 month old daughter and I currently don't have a car, my husband uses it for work.
So during the day I can't go anywhere.
My question is what do you do with your child all day?
I think my daughter is getting bored.
I take her walks in the stroller, sit outside on the patio and get down on the floor with her and play or read books.
Just wondering if you have any other ideas or what you do?

I am using a manual pump. I tried to pump a couple days ago. I pumped for about 10 minutes and only got about 1 oz. This was after my son had breast fed for 15 minutes... (it was after his morning feeding) I'm just looking to get about 4 oz for now. My husband and I have a wedding to go to next weekend and unfourtunatley we can not take our son.
I could really use any advice that you may have on doing this correctly. Thanks
Jessica
