check out wearyourbaby.com they show how to make a homemade sling for about $5 I made one it is very cute and comfortable no sewing required!

Contact your local La Leche League group. Sometimes they sell slings. Then you wouldn't have to pay shipping and some of the money would support breastfeeding in your community.

If this is to carry baby, just visit any store that sell material. A couple of yards of fabric will make a great washable sling!
