She can't have shellfish until 18 mnths. She can eat fish - especially oily fish, which is required for brain development and hand-eye co-ordination.

My daughter turned 2 in June and I still won't give her any kind of shellfish. I know she's not allergic, she's had pasta that's been cooked with shrimp, but it's just one of those things that I think can wait until she's older, say, around three. Besides, she doesn't know that she's missing anything good. She eats just about everything else though and loves it all.

i think so babies can eat most things at 12 months but chop it up into small pieces make sure the prawns are okay as if she gets food poisoning you'll end up in hospital tonight. lol

I think they're probably too rich for a baby's constitution. Prawns are high in fat and cholesterol.

I think they are probably a bit chewy, and just about the right size to choke her. I'd wait until she has teeth, and can chew properly.

i would ask the doctor before ging your baby seafood just to be sure. there are alot of allergys involved with seafood
