put a soft mat down where she climbs the most and if she has teeth be ready for a big scare. when my daughter pulled herself up on things then collapsed down-she'd hit her chin and ram them in the opposite gum...it looks scary as all get out-but have ambesol on hand and know that mouth injuries heal quicker than outside boo-boo's

Sure, there is a helmet, but your Dr. needs to prescribe it as it is an orthopedic device.
Do NOT over protect your child and trap her in a walker. That could result in more MISSED DEVELOPMENTAL steps than pulling up.
Before freaking out, go to Toys R us or even Home depot and buy padded puzzle blocks and pad your floor. It will last for the years through her napping on the floor, friends over for tea parties, it is a wipable surface, and even on camp outs and backyard fun. The padding is also easy to move from room to room.
Also, check out a book called Why Johnny can't read or the follow up Why Johnny still can't read. Studies revealed in an easy to read format with solutions for children who miss or side step developmental stages with helpful games parents can play, too.

You might invest in some hats if it makes you more comfortable. But it's not all that neccessary. My son began crawling at five months and walking at nine months and I freaked too because we had hardwood floors. They do fall, but are actually pretty good at not hittin the noggin. Even when those occassions rise, mommy's kisses are the remedy.
If you can possibly keep pillows or a blanket around the things she pulls up on most it wuld probably ease some of your concerns.

Just remember this, kids are very durable, i can not count how many times my daughter fall and hit her head. The biggest thing to remember is if she isnt crying than dont worry about it, she is fine, and as long as there is not a big knot i wouldnt worry about it, kids are going to fall and get bruises and bumps. What i did was tape like two or three wash clothes to the sharp edges of the tables and stuff so if she does fall she wont hit her head on there. i know this doesnt help much but i wouldnt worry about her hurting her self , kids really dont get hurt that much as people think they do

I know this might sound bad but just let them fall they will learn quickly. My husband always said this and I would freak cause they fall and hurt themselves oh so often. But It actually works and gets them motivated to either walking or crawling because they don't like to bump themselves all the time. Babies are really tough.... do you really want your kid running around with a helmet on there head all the time its not realistic and might overbalance your child and fall contant but its totally up to you.

Every kid develops at a different pace. Some kids skip the crawling thing completely and go right for the pulling up. You'll just have to watch her closely at this stage. She WILL fall down.....they all fall down. But kids are very resiliant. Just make sure your house is baby-proofed well and she should be fine.

Being a Mother myself I understand your concern. As a Mother we want to protect our children but I have to say they will not learn and get the muscle strength to excel if we protect them too much. Yes, she's going to hurt herself you can't be by her side every second of the day. Do make sure the she won't end up in the hospital though. There are so many babies that I see that have bumps, bruises, etc. It is really scary to watch your child fall and the guilt is terrible but they are growing pains.

She will be fine, kids are tough little things.
It may sound harsh but she needs to fall and learn to get herself back up. It's a balance thing she needs to adjust
Once she feels comfortable with the balance is when they get brave and take a few steps.
Some kids skip crawling and go Right to walking.

kids bang their heads all the time, you cannot just over-protect them. You have to learn to accept that they are learning to do new things and it is risky, but if you don't accept it now, you'll never accept it then they'll be oppressed until they can move out. Just help guide them and if they fall and hurt their head, help them but let them learn on their own first.
You have to make changes to your floor if you think it's going to affect your child. Rather than give her a helmet, make changes to the floor and get carpets or a rug where she is pulling herself up.

I understand your concerns. You can get a little helmet for her but she won't want it on. Kids are made to take those little falls. Don't worry too much. She will get past it soon enough. Sometimes they never crawl just go straight to walking.
