I think you should name a child something that is reasonably individual, but not so weird that it is unpronouncable, or one that will get them teased at school - so if you want to call your child Aeoife or Saghayeghe then save that for the middle name! Maybe you should find out if there is a name that runs in the family, even if it hasn't for a couple of generations and see if you like that - sometimes it's good to keep up traditions, and a name that went out of fashion 2 generations ago may have come back into fashion now.

Just remember pick a name that you love. You are giving this new person an identiy with the name you choose. I like picking names that run in the family, gives them some tradition and a story to tell them about their name and who in the family shared that name and what that person was like, did for a living etc. Also remember to make sure the name goes well with your last name and that the initials don't spell anything rude. My daughters initials spell EDEN and that's how I arranged it. However friend's of mine their son's initials spell DAFE (I think of Daffy Duck).
Good Luck in selecting a name and congratulations!

Picking a name for a baby is sometimes stressful. I know that it took me and my husband along time to come up with the names for our children. I personally like the name Josuha for a boy and Victoria for a girl.

In naming your baby a real good rule of thumb would be to pick an easy first name so that your child upon reaching school age, will be able to spell his first name without any difficulty. The second name can be learned later in the child's life, but his/her first name shuld be an easy one that he/she could learn without any problems. I'm moderating a yahoo group called " Baby Names and Stuff ", they have a variety of names from around the world posted, some of which are unique, culteral, plain and so on and most of the meanings and origins are also included.
