My husband is trying to name our baby due in march Clark its not irish so I dont really like it and it reminds me of Clark Kent from smallville/ superman. What do you guys think of that name?

We started the C/ K thing for our kids this being our 4th, due in march and we still dont have a name. We are both Irish and love to name after our heritage.
We already have a Kaylah, Conlan and Cory so cant be too close to any of them. Thanks and if you know the meaning also I have searched so many sites I cant find anything unusual.

I have a boy in my class whose name is "Unique". I am not too fond of naming children after virtues but some of the names are kind of cute. Personally, I would never use the name "Unique"-- but I do think it would make a nice middle name for a baby girl. What do you think??

Other than they would be picked on and made fun of at school? Studies show that children with outlandish names have a harder time making friends, get bullied more, and a high percentage of boys with outlandish names wind up in prison at least once in their lifetimes. I read that in a baby names book about 3 years ago (I don't have the book anymore, sorry, or I would quote it and list the authors)

But what's the appeal of naming a child a name like this? Are parents trying to make their kids 'stand out' or be "special"? What is provoking mothers to name their daughter's these horrid unfeminine names like "Chandler" and "Kyle"?

Ok. Her full legal name is going to be Chandler Raina Alauna Campbell. But we are going to call her Chandlee as a nickname since Chandler sounds too... boyish from other opinions. Do you think Chandlee will be a nice nickname for her? Her due date is March 11, 2007. James, our oldest picked out Chandler so we asked people on here what their thoughts were... they suggested Chandlee as a nickname since Chandler sounded too boyish. What do you think of Chandlee as a nickname for a girl named Chandler?
I already have a James Chandler, Emma Lee, Madison Gweneviere and hubby Blaine Victor and me, I'm just Olivia Erin.

I'm not planning this as a name for my own daughter, I just know I've heard it used as a girl's first name but I don't remember where. Probably TV but it's been driving me nuts for days!

What do you think of this name for a girl, what about for a boy?

It is so made up sounding. Like I took Hayden-but HAD to be different so...let's go through the alphabet....A---Aiden! EUREKA! What about Bayden? OR Dayden?? OR GAYDEN???? What happend to the Jeffery's the Jason's and the Davids? Where is Thomas and Brian? I HATE these trends so much. I just get so angry knowing that I am going to have to say these ridicuous names and be nice in the future when my daughter has friends with this silly monikers.

Do you feel the same way or am I horrible for thinking that you are a twit for naming your kid these made-up, look-at-me-I-named-my-kid-something-different names?
