What does the name Clark make you think of?

My husband is trying to name our baby due in march Clark its not irish so I dont really like it and it reminds me of Clark Kent from smallville/ superman. What do you guys think of that name?

The name Clark makes me automatically think of my son. His name is Clark Spencer. When we first chose that name, I was thinking of Superman, but I chose the name because of the meaning. Most people reply when they hear his name, "You mean 'Clark' like the last name 'Clark'?" Only 3 or 4 people have ever mentioned Superman when they heard his name. A lot of people mistake us for saying "Mark" instead of "Clark." Our pastor's name is Kent, and he always amuses people by telling them that he and Clark together make Superman. Anyway, I absolutely love the name Clark.

I'm not much of a Superman fan, so it makes me think of Clark Gable, a big movie star in the 30s and 40s. Most people would know him as Rhett Butler from Gone with The Wind.

i really don't like this name it does remind of clark kent and i know a lot of people with this as a last name too.

Well it reminds me of my friend Kate Clark, i would not choose it as a first name but i like it as a last name

It reminds me of a scholarly person as in its meaning.
Clark: (French) cleric, scholar. It's a very nice name and sounds nice too rolls off the tip of the tongue smoothly. Who cares about Clark Kent that is just his name and so why can't your son have it too?
