Many of you have said that you don't like it because it's too different. My name is very different and I like it so I decided to pick a different name for a girl.

Honestly, I don't like it. "CrisDee" sounds too much like "Christy," and people would constantly assume that that was her name. She would have to say, "No, not Christy. CrisDEE!" The person would, likely, still be confused, so CrisDee would have to spell it for them. Time that could have been used discussing things that are interesting and important to CrisDee would be wasted on this annoying exchange. I like Ann, though.

I appreciate your trying to come up with an interesting and unique name for your daughter. I'm just trying to be honest about this particular idea.

It's a unique spelling, but sounds like Christie Ann. Have you thought of Chrishell Ann?

Capital letters in the middle of names are problematic, especially once the child starts school--it's problematic for students and for teachers.

Also, you have to consider the possibility that "CrisDee" will frequently be mistaken for "Christy" or "Kristy," and you and your child are constantly going to have to correct people and spell out the name. I know from experience that having to spell out your name all the time is a pain.

It's also discouraging for the child when you go to places that have items with names--keychains, coffee mugs, t-shirts, etc.--and her name is never there--and if it is, it's never spelled right. I've been dealing with it for 21 years, and sometimes I still want to cry when I can't find something that says "Carole" instead of "Carol." Don't get me wrong--I love my name, but it's discouraging, and it's very frustrating.

Not my style at all. I am not a huge fan of the name Christie. I really don't care for capital letters in the middle of words. And I don't like the name Cris or Dee. It reminds me of Crispy even more than Cristy.

We all can't like the samethings though. If you like it, then go for it. I am sure you'll find the perfect name for you! SD

No. There shouldn't be a capitol letter in the middle of a name.

Christy Ann would be better.

What about Kristin Ann, call her Kristy?
My aunt is named Kay Diana but calls herself Kay'D (which I think is kind of the same concept), and no offense, but it's just annoying. You're kid will be unique, they don't need a name to further set them apart.

Sounds like a greasy food item.

Nobody will ever spell it right. All her paper work will be screwed up because you had to be original.

Take it from me, my parents changed one letter of my quite normal name and not even my brothers and sisters ever spell it right.

End the suffering.

Don't like it...sorry:) I like unusual names but when someone takes a common name and gives it a weird spelling it just comes across as kind of flaky to me.

That's kind of cool. I really like it if you say it all as one word. I also like Kris DeAnn. If it were my child, I'd always be calling her by her first and middle names because it sounds so pretty. I wouldn't want to call her just ChrisDee.
