I am 20 and still a virgin, which quite frankly does't bother me given the culture i was raised in...But i recently moved to a society where promiscuity is soooo rampant, and normal, but i get the weirdest looks when i say im a virgin, and i have a hard time explaining why. Like i said, it doesnt bother me one bit, but is it THAT shocking?? Any help?

I have a neice that has just started menstrating. She`s scared to tell her mom, so she called me. Of course I reassured her and gave her factual info. But what do I tell my sister inlaw? She doesn`t want to admit that her daughter is growing up. My sister inlaw is a tomboy, she has a hardtime with "women things", especially with her daughter who she tries to treat like a boy. Any suggestions?

A year ago she, who used to be a good girl, got jealous of her lil bro, disrespectful and did bad stuff like drinking and joining bad crowds. She apologized and showed regret but was grounded for a month and didn't rebel. When the grounding ended she told us she was very sad cause she felt we didn't trust her. We, especially me, were still upset and were extremely harsh, probaly a mistake. I ended up telling the girl maybe I would never trust her again, I was really harsh though she was in despair. She got depressed, her grades dropped, lost weight, quit sports. My mom tried to help, told me without accusing we 'd been cruel and suggested the girl spend some time with her. She accepted and mom gave her what she neded most, trust, and she's been with her for a year. She like started living again, resumed swimming, great greats, a brand new and wonderful girl. Incredible how she got mature in 1 year. But she doesnt want to come back home, now it's her who doesnt trust us, shes scared

half of it's gone, the other half barely readable. he's 8 and was mad that i wouldn't play with him (because i was doing my Homework). now it's gone. it took me 2 hours to do it!!!!! i'm planning on doing it over again (i hate geometry), but should i tell my parents, or just tell him what he did was wrong, don't do it again, and then promise to play with him next time? i don't want to be a rat.

Alright, well, I'm twelve years old (13 in October) and have always wanted to get snake bites (two labret piercings) or just one. Anyway, my older sister is turning 19 this year and when she was my age, she got to go all the way to Texas to see her friends from when we used to live there. She flew all by herself at 12 and she has grown up to be a very irresponsible person who doesn't have a job, hates my mom, goes to an Alternative high school in a Wichita which is like 30 minutes away from where I live. She's graduating this year. As for me, I'm responsible, easy-going, I get along with my parents and am in the Gifted Program (IQ: 153). Just about everything my sister wasn't and still isn't. I've never even been alone on a plane. My nanny (my dad hired her) has always been with me when I fly to Toronto to see my dad when he's there. The point is, do you think I'm old enough and responsible to get a piercing like that? Why/Why not and what are some ways to convince my parents I am?

My son is 14 years old and has ADHD. He's very impulsive and has dyslexia as well as auditory processing disorder (what he hears isnt what is being said- at least not in the same order). He went to speech therapy when he was in 1st-3rd grade for the auditory processiong disorder and he's medicated for his ADHD. He was doing well at his school but we moved so he had to move schools. His new school is not at all sympthetic to his needs. He's been suspended 3 times because he's been disruptive in the classroom. His dad went to school with him one day and followed him around. We learned that one of his teachers is always fussing at him- even when he's being quiet. Now, he's on the brink of not passing 8th grade because of the difficult time he's having. Any ideas? We've grounded him, taken away his video games and TV, etc. We have 2 girls who are doing great in school. Also, my son is a great person. He's very talented musically. He's becoming depressed and I worry alot about him. Ideas?

she is new at school and we talk once. We talk about our school history and religion. She told me she lives with her grandmother and she goes to this big church. She told me she used to go to private school and she had to wear a dress and she didn't like it. So she now goes to the public school. She also said that our class feels like it's summer school. Are conversation ended when are 10 min break was over and back to work. I was leaving early right when break was over. She told me she was leaving in 2 hours. Anyways She said she was a loser and she walk back to class and I told her no your not. And that was it we both walk away and headed in different directions. I thought the conversation was going good, but she was doing most of the talking. Why do you think she called her self a loser for? She sound kinda serious when she called her self a loser. Maybe she thought I was bored with our conversation. Next day in class I was doing my work and this girl ask for a piece of gum and the girl im interested was sittin behind me and she ask for a piece too. I gave both of them a piece and the girl i'm interested said i'm sorry for bothering you and I said that's alright. I was going to say something than she puts her head down and goes back to work. She didn't have any friends when she was new now she has one that's really her true friend which he's gay btw. Anyways when she walks past me she won't even look at me. I hate when a girl ignores you like that. I'm not gonna talk to her unless she looks at me because to me that just seems like she doesn't want anything to do with me. I don't really know her that well, but i think she been acting weird. The class was on break so almost everyone goes outside and gets some fresh air and some stay inside by the door and waits for break to be over. The guys and I stay inside and wait for break to be over while the girls go outside and get some fresh air. I saw her talking to this guy outside and she anyways break was just about over and the girl comes inside and she kinda shouts to the guys if the door was lock. The guys said yea and than she seem like she had an attitude sayin in a rude way i'm going right back outside and goes right back and talks to the guy. Then I went outside and told her the door is now open and she ignore me like she didn't hear me. Maybe she really didn't. She was still talking to the guy. And few minutes later she comes inside and im right there and she didn't look at me. Then she goes back in the class and im still in the hall. So she gets out of class takes out her cell phone and calls her mother. And she goes outside and talks. The guy that she was talkin to was still out there. As soon as there conversation was over she said peace out to him. I havent went to school for four days and she started to look at me... We made eye contact for 3-4 seconds... When she was outside and when she was coming back she was looking down and than she look up real quick and look at me and than she look back down real quick. Last week, I hold the door for her and she just look at me in a weird way. She didn't even say thank you. She just look at me and look right back down. I think she was upset that day too. Tomorrow do you think if I ask her if she would like to take a walk, you she will say yes or no? Please be honest...

Ok well my friend is 16 and she has barely lost her virginity to her boyfriend and since then they have done it for a couple of times now (In like the bigining of this month). And her period usually comes around like in the middle of the month or towards the end (like in the 20th). But she is worried that maybe in a way she might be pregnant or she wonders if she is going to get her period around the usual time or would it change to where she might miss it and make her think she is pregnant. Also her and herboyfriend havent been using a condom but she says that he has taken it out before he even cums inside her. So can anyone help?

My daughter has had reading problems for a few years. she just finished a tutoring program, and it has not helped much. I feel she has difficulty focusing and trouble staying on task. I fear she may have some underlying issue, but I also fear medication. OK problem #2... I have told her MANY times I will not tollerate lying, and I will always find out if she lies. Well, there was an insident today where my husband asked me if I took $40 from his dresser. Long story short, I found the $$ in my daughter's room. I confronted her with it and she lies to my face repeadily. The truth finally came out when my husband asked her about it. I am broken! I really did not expect that from her. Is this normal behavior or is something wrong? I don't need to hear any smart a** answers either, I feel like a horrible mother as it is right now.

My 13yr old is getting C's, and one F for not applying himself in school, I want to tell him that I can sign him up for a Saturday program this summer, I want to use this to get him to straighten up???
I was thinking of printing out some info and just leaving it on the table with some other paperwork to get him a little worried?
Is this not the right way to handle this? I've talked to teachers, had meetings, etc.
nothing works.

This all happened about a month ago, but it has been on my mind lately:

My mom and STEPdad sat me down for a talk. My stepdad talked while my mom wrote. Basicaly, they made a list of things that were wrong with me. It said that I needed to be more grateful, to have a *sanitary* room, and to respect them.

But the thing is, I don't respect them. And the "Disrespect" he's talking about isn't like slapping my mom or anything. It is more like asking WHY I can't go over to a friend's house. And besides that, they're making a list of things that are wrong with me for God's sake. And, not to mention, this was all during the ice day that we had and I was off school and should be outside playing in the snow. (I live in central Texas by the way).

So I was sobbing as he's saying all this, and then he said, "Do you have anything to say?" and I replied with something like "I'm not on drugs. I'm not pregnant. I don't get in trouble at school. It seems like all you see is negative."

i lost my mom november 9, 2005 due to melanoma, a terrible skin cancer. we found out august 16. 2005 that she was diagnosed with cancer. i remember her telling me that she wasnt going to die. but, 3 months later, she did. i watched her die. i was holding her when she died. 5 minutes b4 she died she opened her eyes and looked dead straight. me, my brother, my sister and my dad were at the hospital with her. she told her to go and that everything would be fine. but i still miss her so much. i want to call her. i want to see her for christmas.
sometimes it feels like shes just on vacation!!!

someone help me...am i supposed to feel liek this? even though its been a year and a few months??!?

I had a meeting with my 8 yr olds teacher today? She all but came out and told me that she thinks that my son has ADD but she did not want to "lable" him so she would not test him for it. She went on to tell me that the next years teacher would probably want to test him tho. So I want to know....... Should I make them test him or should I just wait? This year is the first year that he has gotten less than a B on his report card, but his low grade was a C so its not like he is doing really bad in school this year he is just having a few problems with some of the subjects. All of his grades fluctuate from grading period to grading period. Now his teacher has moved him to a corner of the room so that she can make him focus more on the class work and not the little girl behind him. So what should I do test or wait like she wants to do?
