half of it's gone, the other half barely readable. he's 8 and was mad that i wouldn't play with him (because i was doing my Homework). now it's gone. it took me 2 hours to do it!!!!! i'm planning on doing it over again (i hate geometry), but should i tell my parents, or just tell him what he did was wrong, don't do it again, and then promise to play with him next time? i don't want to be a rat.

I'd tell your parents. Just by telling him he's wrong and you'll play with him next time - he's getting his way. You would be reinforcing his negative behavior. He does something bad and then you play with him so he won't do it again. If anything you should tell him that b/c he did that you won't play with him next time even if you don't have homework to do. He's 8 years old - he knows what he's doing.

I'd tell your parents if I were you, not to be a rat but to tell them that there is something that might cause problems in that toilet! It's a bummer that you lost 2 hours work but re-doing it has got to be easier the second time around. It would be just as frustrating if you were doing it on the computer and somehow the computer 'ate your homeowork' (I've had that happen.)

What he did was malicious and selfish. Yes, tell your parents. He needs to be punished for his bad behavior. You aren't being a "rat". Being a rat is tattling over something that doesn't concern you at all, and this certainly does, especially if he continues to act out like this to get attention, which he will if he's allowed to get away with it this time. At 8, he's well old enough to know what he did was wrong and he needs to know there are consequences for bad behavior.

Do both. First tell your parents what he did. They will talk to him about not doing that again. After the conversation is over and if he's not too mad, tell him want you want to say.

I would rat on the little guy. He is 8 and should know right from wrong. He sounds a little spoiled.

Minor indiscretions should be ignored or dealt with w/o adult interference, but he destroyed something that took you two hours, so this isn't exactly minor. Plus this could cause plumbing problems. You need to tell your parents.

he needs something else to do, next time he pushes you too far dunk his head into the commode and promise you will flush him down the tube to retrieve the work.

This will sometimes work,
