I'm on birth control, and I take it regularly within 3 or 4 hours everyday.
How much of a chance would it be to get pregnant, if my boyfriend doesn't use a condom?
..and yes, I know condoms don't protect againest STD's. -_-

Condoms DO protect against STDs - I think you meant to say you know that the pill doesn't protect against STDs. Aside from that, as long as you haven't missed any pills and have been taking them regularly, the chance of pregnancy is between 1-5 times in 100.

Sweetie,i must ask you what type of gyn you have?No birth control required you to take it every three or four hours everyday. That can lead to some serious problems. If you are speaking within three to four hours of when you last took it the day before, you need to take it exactly.Write it down if need be,you need to set a time to take your birthcontrol if you want it to be somewhat effective.Having said that, you still are not protected 100%,as no birth control is reguardless as to how often you take it.You need to,first start taking it regularly.Second, you need to start protecting abstinence. That is the only full proof method of birth control or in preventing stds.If you "must" then use birth control(correctly),and also use another form of protection.Neither is 100% in changing std contraction or pregnancy. There is always that possibility. Both are life changing experiences,as i am sure you are not ready for. Please, consider abstinence.Good luck hun,and have a good day!

Birth control doesn't always work. There is still a chance of getting pregnant even if you do take it when your supposed to. I have a friend who's seventeen and a mother of two. Both times before she got pregnant she took birth control regularly and the guy even used a condom and she still got pregnant. The best thing to do really is wait if your at a young age.

regularly would be a set time every day, not within 3-4 hours. i got pregnant on birth control because i didn't take it regularly. and condoms will protect you from std's. birth control will not. why are you willing to take such a chance?

My girlfriend used birth control ( Ortho Tri Cyclen ) for about 4 years and only when she quit taking it she was able to get pregnant also it regulates your period. So you getting pregnant while on the pill is very slim to none. Also keep in mind you must take it everyday give or take 5 hours not a big deal ! Just don't miss a day PLEASE !!!!

Maybe a 2% chance.
Just remember that a lot of relationships don't last. If he cheats on you and the two of you don't use a condom... The chance of you getting an STD are much higher.

If, you take your ocp's like you say, do not take antibiotics without alternative protection, then i think that you fall into the 99% bracket where you WILL NOT get pregnant
and yes, you are correct, ocp's will not protect you from STD's and condoms are not foolproof either...you can still get some STD's even with condoms...herpes for one

Less than a one-percent chance, Hon. Birth control pills are by far the most reliable form of birth control available, barring sterilization.
It's very unlikely you'll become pregnant.

As long as you are on the pill and taking it daily...you should be protected against pregnancy. A condom is a nice ..second...protection against it. Mom to 3.

look at your birth control pack, it will tell you in small print the percentage for that perticular pill.
Also, nomatter what the package says... do not have sex if you are not fully understanding that it can result in a pregancy. If you are not willing to start a family with your boyfriend, then you are not ready to have sex... especially unprotected.
