I am 20 and still a virgin, which quite frankly does't bother me given the culture i was raised in...But i recently moved to a society where promiscuity is soooo rampant, and normal, but i get the weirdest looks when i say im a virgin, and i have a hard time explaining why. Like i said, it doesnt bother me one bit, but is it THAT shocking?? Any help?

You don't have to explain anything. If they ask why you're a virgin, ask them why they're rude!

WHY you need to tell someone I will never know
I am sure it is not something people will come up and ask you If you are the one that bringing up the subject than I understand why the person will want to ask why
but otherwise if someone ask why are you still a virgin
you should say it a choice or it is not your business
but if you the one publicizing that your are one
than answer
I was until I got married at 18 no one but my husband to be and a few friend that knew I was not sleeping around
and it was not discuss for someone to dare ask why
because it is so personal that only you can tell someone
so if you are ask that because you are publicizing it
you must be proud & to let you know many people are
they just don't discuss it
It is very private it does not say in your font head

I've always read that when someone asks you an inappropriate question, you should just stare at them in incredulity. Or, you should say, "Why would you ask such a personal question."

On the other hand, you are bringing it up, so you ought to defend it. Or be quietly proud of it.

Why do you have a hard time explaining it? "In my culture, we don't act like unpaid prostitutes by the time we're 15, like seems to be happening here. We have more self-respect, more pride, and know better how to handle the awesome power of our sexuality."

How is this subject even coming up . It is nobodies buisness and I personally would just avoid it by saying I don't like talking about my sexual life . When you find that person I would tell them in comfiedance and have them take it slow with you . Good for you I wish I was a virgin when I met my husband .

Well, the first thought that comes to mind is to tell them the truth. If you are embarrassed of the real reason why you are a virgin, tell them that you are responsible and treat your body right. Or that you are waiting for the "right" person and you haven't found anyone good enough for you yet. Tell them that you just don't go throwing yourself on anyone, it's gross to do that.

OR, just tell them it's none of their business.

you should be proud of being a virgin because having sex with your love one or just have fun is different.
you can say to them that you are saving your virginity to someone that you will marry maybe that's the best thing that a guy can have in your wedding day.
plus marital sex is a crime? and its against God's Commandments (Christians) 6. Do not commit adultery i think

I hope my answer helps you

I have 3 possibilities for you:

1. That is none of your business. [Depending on your mood, you could add - I don't ask you about your sex life.]

2. Because I am choosing to wait until marriage, just like you chose not to. It's a choice.

3. Because I am choosing to wait until I meet the right person.

Hey!!! I was a virgin until my wedding night at the age of 28. Be proud of your self. And brag!!! Why not!!!! People who save them selves for marriage are very strong people. So be proud of your self and brag.
I did!

If you want to bring it up, you can simply say "I have standards" and leave it at that. If it is a girl asking you why you haven't lost your virginity, I guarantee that response will actually make them more interested in you (they love to prove they can meet someone's standard).

good on you! tell them its none of their business, or if you think thats too rude then just explain to them its a personal choice you have made and you are waiting to meet the right person/ or get married.

Just tell them that you haven't found anyone that is worthwhile or deserving of it and your looking for love and not a meaningless romp in bed. Anyone can have sex but for it be worthwhile and wonderful, it should have some meaning, love for starters.
