While 12 or 13 is the average, getting it as late as 15 is still considered normal. Don't worry, you'll get it soon and enough and be wishing you had started later!!! Also, the older you get it, the better: you will be exposed to less estrogen over the course of your life and that will lower the incidence of certain female cancers. So consider yourself lucky! Also, I was a rail when I was your age - 5'8 and 115 pounds and I got it at about your age. Check out this site:

Don't worry, it's different for everyone. I started when I was 9 years old, and my best friend started when she was 16, that's 7 years difference!
I would imagine that some of your friends are not being totally honest as it would be unusual for a large group of girls to have all started by the age of 12, this is quite young to start.
Most girls start at about 13 or 14. Really don't worry. Enjoy yourself now before you have deal with it. I didn't even know what it was before I started it was really scary, but my friend used to show off that she didn't have it yet.
If you are worried about your weight being too low, go to a doctor, but you would have to be really underweight for it to effect your periods.
Just enjoy being young!!

Why the heck do you want to know? Well i might as well tell you. It doesn't matter on your weight. There is this girl at my school who is 12 who had a period and she is like 95lb. When Someone is born they have a biological clock. That determines when someone dies, has a baby, or has other things, such as a period. BTW I'm also 12. Do't ask me how the heck I know this I just do.

You will get it soon enough and you will wish you didnt ever have it! Do not be in a hurry....I was skinny like you and I was almost 14 when I had mine for the first time. It is true that less body fat can prolong on the onset of your period but only if you are very very skinny.

Don't worry. It will come. Once it comes, you will stop growing in height and start growing sideways. And when it starts coming, it comes every month (unless u get yourself pregnant). So, don't worry about it. It will come. Stop comparing with your classmates. Your time will come. Enjoy yourself for the time being. The average age is about 11-13 in my class. But there are some outliers...

My little cousin asked this but it's not that great...
You bloat, which means your belly gets bigger and you can't fit into your jeans
You feel like you've peeded on yourself...
You have constand mood swings...well at least for me. First your happy, than your sad, then you feel like beating the crap out of every living thing...
Your cramps hurt really, really bad at least mines do...
And you just feel like laying in bed all day.
For some reason my Period came on when I was 9. Don't ask why I don't know. But it should come soon. So when it does, be prepared...

mother nature never intended for this to be a surprise, but 99% of the time, it is. Since the girl has never had one, it is difficult to tell her what to expect...and most of the time, she does not know it is coming and is usually ill-prepared for supplies...try the link below for more 411
you don't say HOW skinny, but it is a fact that the less stored body fat a girl has lessens her chance significantly of having periods.
good luck

It is different for every girl. I got mine when I was 13 and most of my friends had already gotten theirs as well. You will have it when your body is ready. And then you will wish you were 12 again and didn't have to deal with it. :) Don't let it worry you that your friends have it already. When your body's ready it's ready.
