IF the teen plays video games then yes it can affect their health, eye sight, and weight.

some teens (like me) don't play video games. I simply don't waste my time. I started college early, and I am trying to get a job to help suport the family. I also ride pro mountian bikes. am somewhat fit. (I need to loose about 15 pounds to be at the TOP of my game).

my older brother on the other hand needs glasses, is over weight, and gets sick easier than I do. the main diffrence is that he spends most of his time playing games or watching tv

They can have a negative affect on teenagers based on parenting. BUT in general I don't feel they have any negative affect. If the parent doesn't explain [of course at an earlier age] the difference between Gears of War and real life kids may not understand the difference. If the parents allow their teens to be on 24/7 then physically it can have negative affects. Generally though I feel that most teens do understand the difference and do understand that there is a limit. I hope this helps you to understand why some people believe that teens can be negatively affected!

I'm fast approaching 30 and I love video games! In moderation, video games can be fun and can actually buikld some skill sets. I don't think a 15-yr-old should spend 12 hours a day on the Playstation but that is obvious.

I have a 14 year old son who loves to play his video games before he goes to sleep every night, but during the day he is outside being active. I don't think video games are bad as long as the time spent playing on them is limited. Additionally, the games should be age appropriate.

Yes they do. Most video games contain scenes of violence which can cause you to go a little bit violent, too. Also computers and tv's give off dangerous radiation levels which can seriously damage your eyesight. Other than that, video games can make you smarter if it is stragatic and/or educational.

some do and some don't, it depends on the sanity of the person, a sane person can play a very violent video game and it doesn't affect them, but the two kids who did the columbine high school massacre were insane, and they played doom a lot.

Too much 'gaming' will lead to teenagers losing interest in sports, and their studies and causing them to be fat and lazy.
