Pregnancy & Parenting - 16 February 2007

I am hosting a baby shower in about a month and for favors for the guests I thought about having empty flower pots with a packet of seeds since the mother will have the baby in the spring. On the side of the pots I would like to put a creative saying and now I am drawing a blank, any suggestions?

we would like some info on being pregnant. we want it catered to us. My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 1/2 years and dont use protection. He always cums in me, every time we have sex. Well I have never gotten pregnant. Im kinda worried. Maybe somethings wrong with him???? or me???? maybe one of us isnt fertile???? please help me out. I was on birth control a long time ago but I've been off it for 2 years... HELP!?

I am potty training my almost 3 yr old son. We have the peeing standing up down. I take him in the bathroom every hour. When he tells me he has to go poop we go and I sit him on the potty and he goes.
My question is when he is going poop how do we do it so he doesnt pee on everything. We cant go pee first because he usually tells me at the last minute. I dont want him to feel like he didnt do well since he ends up peeing on his pants and lap.

They have those toilet seats that have that cover on it but he doesnt like that. Any other ideas?

We have 3 kids already, Kaleb Michael which we picked out before he was born; Kylie Jo and Kalyn Jade which we chose after they were born and observed them to see what name would fit. Now that we are pregnant again, I love the name Kegan John (well, we agree on the middle name of John after my grandfather who passed away). When our 3rd child was born we didn't know the sex and I loved the name Kegan for a boy and apparently he did too. Now almost 4 years later, he refuses to use that name. I don't know if he is doing it to make me upset or what. I had to go 9 months last time liking the name Kegan only to end up with girl. Now that it is actually a boy, I still want that name. Am I being unfair, he hasn't offered any suggestions yet. I feel this child inside of me all day long and I want to have that bond and call him by his name instead of baby. Whenever anyone asks about names, I speak my opinion and he just shrugs and says nope. Any suggestions?

As soon as you pick her up and start walking around, everything is fine. She smiles, laughs. But as soon as you put her down, she starts crying and won't stop till you pick her up. From what I've seen, there are two answers:

1. You can't spoil a child. Keep holding her..
2. You are spoling her too much. Set her down and let her cry.

Both sides are extreme...To me, it seems there needs to be a balance. So what's the solution from some of you in the middle. How did you get through this time?

My son (7yo) was severely misbehaving so I told him to take a time out. He refused. Well, I'm the parent so if I say to take a time out, then he's going to take a time out!! Since he refused, I physically restrained him police-style...I had him lying on his stomach, I sat on his back and held his hands behind him so he couldn't hit me or move away.

I did this after I tried just holding him (he was kicking and squirming too much to hold him like that). And I wasn't putting my weight on him to hurt him and I wasn't pulling his arms, just holding them. He was hurting himself by struggling against me. But when I had him on the groud he started screaming that it hurt so my husband comes in a sees me sitting on the boy.

Hubby thinks that was way too extreme to get our son on the ground "like a criminal" as he put it.
Well, I don't believe in spanking and if he refuses to go along with his consequences, what else can I do?
Was it too much to hold him down to make him behave?

My 8 month old daughter has recently warmed up to the idea of being social with other adults. She loves children and always plays with them. She is a bright, happy baby who is already standing on her own. Im so proud! The problem is any male friend or family member is completely off limits with her. She cries, pulls away and doesnt even want them looking at her or talking to her. I try to encourage her so I will see what happens in the future. Her father has only met her once. He is definitely NOT involved in our lives and I havent talked to him in months. My father passed away 2 years ago, so she doesnt have any access to any males other than my 17 year old brother. I think she sees him as a kid because he gets down on her level and he looks very young. She has godparents who want to spend time with her, but she cries so much when her godfather comes around..any suggestions on what to do now? What about raising a little girl fatherless in the future? Thank you.

21pack 7 day resting period in order for period to come
its about 5 days after my period and i skipped a pill but double it up the next day . Two days i took it late , today i took it on time
My next period is due on 20 days . What are my changes ? Can i get pregnant ? I have been on this pill for a little over a year now.

I think I just lost my mucus plug. Not sure tho. When I woke up this morning, there was a small glob of brownish discharge on my underwear. I don't have any back pains at all or any other symptoms. When I wiped there was more dark brownish discharge. I have on a pad and have been watching to see if there's any more, but I just see very slight dark brown spotting on the pad. Was that glob before my mucus plug? I do have another appointment with my doctor early Tuesday morning, but I'll go ahead and give him a call to let him know about the glob. So, just in case I could be going into labor soon, I want to go ahead and finish getting my hospital bag ready but am not sure what all I should take. Could you all please let me know? Thanks

I missed my period last month and am currently changing pills. I had unprotected sex about 3 times during the week I was supposed to get my period at the end of last month. I have taken preg tests randomly since then to see if I got preg during that week. Next week would be when I am supposed to get my cycle based on break through bleeding about 4 weeks ago. I took a early preg test today and am wondering whether is it positive. In the pregnant space there is a white line...it may be faint but def. there. Is this a positive test?

My nine year old cousin was just told he has dyslexia. When my brother was told this years ago, he stopped trying in school. He thought he had a dissorder and he couldn't learn.
