I think you are talking about guafenisin (spelling may be off, sorry). It's known by the brand name Robitussin.
PLAIN robitussin/guafenisin can thin cervical fluid making it more hospitable to sperm. So, if you are having trouble conceiving b/c of inadequate or thick cervical fluid, robitussin might help. Again, it must be PLAIN robitussin (or the generic) b/c anything which has a decongestant or antihystamine can DRY up cervical fluid and prevent conception.

Yes, i have heard the myth and it seems to be true. If you take Robitussin or Mucinex (with guifennisin) if will thin cervial mucus and can help in getting pregnant. Also, make sure to drink a lot of water (10 8oz glasses a day)

never heard the myth...... are you saying cough syrup helps you get pregnant??? Cause if it does, it isnt helping me. I been using it alot to sleep and from having a cold and Im not pregnant. we been trying for awhile too

its the ingrediant called Guaifenesin that helps with thining your cirvic mucus robitussin is one of the brands but it has to be reg robitussin no other letters after the robitussin

It can work but only if you aren't creating enough cervical mucous on your own.
