Short answers - about 4-6 hours at a time, but let them decide how long (don't wake them) and HOPEFULLY longer at night. And yes for bedtime.

The following are taken from BabyCenter - I have and continue to use it regularly. It has input on anything I have ever thought of...

Sleeping for longer chunks of time (http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/baby/babydevelopment/1477194.html)

If your baby's sleeping through the night (five or six hours at a stretch), you're one of the lucky few. Most 10-week-old babies still wake up in the middle of the night. But even babies who aren't sleeping through the night at this stage should be sleeping and staying awake for longer intervals instead of cycling back and forth so much. Your baby will most likely have two to four long sleep periods and as many as ten hours of awake time in 24 hours.

An interesting note: Whether your baby is a night owl or a morning lark, a long sleeper or short sleeper, she'll probably stay that way throughout childhood.

Sound sleep advice (http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/baby/babydevelopment/1477197.html)

Whether you envision your little one sleeping independently in a crib at an early age or sharing a family bed in the coming years, a soothing and predictable bedtime routine will help your child nod off and get the rest he needs. And it's not too early to start.

Your routine can include rocking, singing, a bath, a bedtime story, cuddling with a transitional object (such as a soft blanket or stuffed animal), being carried around the house and saying goodnight to each room — whatever makes sense for your family. The ritual will evolve as your child gets older.

Good Luck!

I have always let my children set their own schedule of feeding and sleeping. At eleven weeks, night and day do not mean anything to them. Even though it is exhausting for you, they will get into their own routine. If you are a stay at home mom, then just let the baby dictate the schedule. If you work, you may have to adjust the baby's schedule to fit yours. It would be great for you to have a set bedtime for the baby, but at eleven weeks, I don't know if it is realistic.

As many hours as he wants, but I would suggest bringing him out to the living room during the day, and letting him sleep out there and at night have him sleep in his room with the lights off.
Just so, he starts to understand the difference. 11wks Aww, soon you'll be getting nighttime rest, if you aren't already. my 3 month old started sleeping 7-8hrs straight at 3wks. Congrats! and good luck.

They will sleep as long as they need to. Since babies cannot tell time, they will do things on their own time. Once he is older you will be able to help establish a consistent routine. Now is too early.

Good Luck and enjoy he now....he will be 16 and asking for car keys in no time.

at that age, let them sleep as much as they like.

as far as a bedtime, you dont really need to set one yet, but it is good to put the kiddo to sleep at a consistant time each night. sleeping habits are easily started at this age and over the next couple years.

As many hours as he/she wants. If it's during the night, let the baby go. If it's during the day, you may want to wake them up after 3 or 4. Two of my babies slept through the night at six weeks. If they want to do it, let them!
