Trisomy means a third chromosome. Trisomy 21 is Down's syndrome and what that means is a person with Down's syndrom has 3 of chromosome 21 instead of 2. Trisomy 18 is Edward's syndrome, the person would have 3 of the number 18 chromosome. Hope this helps a little bit.

Trisomy is a chromosomal disease. Go to webMd.com and check it out. There are different types. The way I remember from Biology class though, is they are mostly height related.
