Pregnancy & Parenting - 1 February 2007

She likes different flavors but when she gets a small piece of food in her mouth she acts as if she is choking to death! Very dramatic! She still prefers the stage 2 baby food (pureed, no chunks). What types of foods can I introduce to her in order to get her used to eating more table food??? She will eat tiny bits of scrambled egg, tofu, applesauce. Does anyone else have this issue?

Ok in November I got my period on the 21st. in December i got my period on the 25 and in January i got my period on the 26th. So does any one know If this is considered an irregular period or what?

Apparently I am the area's psychologist and everyone comes to me with their problems, concerns and what not. Well a good bit of my friends know that me and my df are having a relatively hard time conceiving. I just got a message from a girl who just took a home pregnancy test and it came back positive, she is stressing out but very happy about it, she says she planned it and everything but neither her or her boyfriend have jobs, she doesn't have a steady home, and he is the town delinquent always getting arrested and in trouble.

I am so bummed out by this news because then there is me who has all the means necessary to raise another child ( I have a 14 month old little boy) and I am the one with fertility issues and am having a hard time conceiving. I feel like this is so unfair. I mean I am happy for her and all but a tiny bit of me does indeed envy her for becoming pregnant. I just keep asking myself why isn't that me? Please don't say that I am being selfish because

I posted a question a couple of days ago and got an excellent response regarding a very very faint second line.

my last period started 4th or 5th of Jan. Took two HPT in the last few days which are so faint I even think that I am starting to see things.

Anyway took another one today. the blue control line is normal, the second line is thinner than the control line but is definitely blue!! and clearly visible. not grey like an evap line. Can evap lines ever be coloured? it is definitely a straight line where the pregnancy line should be, just looks like it's coloured one side more than the rest.

It appeared straight away too, less than a minute and stayed like that and is still like that. what do you think?

the answers to some of peoples questions. Like when to start solids? What formula to use? Everyone always just says do what your doctor says. Does everyone really ask their doctor about all these things. I personally read about the pros and cons of these things like starting solids between 4 and 6 months and decide on my own if my baby is ready. I know about the tongue thrust reflex and all that and i try it if it doesnt' work i try later. One doctor tells you one thing and another tells you something else. I tell my doctor what we are doing now and make my own decisions by weighing the info myself. Is this so wrong. Should i call my doctor before i go for a walk and see if it's okay.

I'm exclusively formula feeding my 4 week old son. Even from the hospital, he was eating almost twice as much as other newborns. Now he's taking 3~5 oz of formula every 1 1/2 hr ~ 3 hrs. This is way more than what the normal feeding schedule should be for his age. Is this okay? (His birthweight was 8lbs 14oz, and his 2 wk weight was 10lbs 12oz)

Lol, I know they say sleep when baby sleeps, but I have insomnia and can't fall asleep in under an hour. My boyfriend's going to school full time, it's a 40 min commute at 7 am, so I have to do the night time feedings as well as the mornings and afternoon. He also gets impatient with her after a while because she doesn't just want changed or to eat anymore, she wants attention and to play. She's 6 weeks old and needs the stimulation, but he doesn't get that yet. So how do I cope w/ lack of sleep? I can't sleep in the evenings because that's when I have to do laundry and cook and clean. Did I mention that we're in the process of moving? And that he wants me to find a job? Lol, I must be getting a bit cranky :D Or does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to fall asleep fast but not stay asleep if the baby wakes up? Thanks!

I need advise. My son is fourteen years old, and he has recently become curious about sex. We have a good relationship, and he is comfortable about coming to me about most issues. He has told me that he wakes up with semen in his underwear, and I explained to him that he is becoming a young man and this is normal. We have talked about sex; however, he is not currently sexually active. Tonight, I discovered that he has been searching for animated sex cartoons. They are not too explicit, but this concerns me because I don't know what to do next. I have blocked the sites he visited and restricted other sites, but what now? I want to be angry, but I realize that he is getting older and he's curious about sex. He is now the age I was when I had him. I have worked very hard to prevent him from making the same error in judgement I did. He has never had a girlfriend, but he is now interested in older girls. What's happening with my son?

I was just curious as to how many ultrasounds are done in an average pregnancy?

I'm 29wks - i had one at 15/16wks and one at 20 wks.

Every appointment the doc checks baby's position and we hear the heartbeat etc - and everything is going well according to her

Is it routine to have more ultrasounds done from this stage? Or will one only be done if they suspect something is wrong?

Well I'm a nursing mom, and I love nothing more than to be able to bond so well while you breastfeed your baby. I really wish it could never end, but eventually it has to end. And now that she's getting bigger (4months) I need to get her use to bottle feeding. But do you have any ideas on how to get her to latch to a bottle, she just doesnt want it. I try and try and she would rather have mommy than a bottle. If you have any ideas please feel free and let me know. Thanks

I was expecting a lengthy and thorough ultrasound but doctor seemed rushed. The whole thing probably lasted 10 minutes and he didnt offer any information unless I asked. When I asked if he could see any deformities or abnormalities he said no, but never even showed me the whole baby. The baby's bottom was facing us and her thighs and he immediately just said girl. Does this all sound normal? I left the room feeling disappointed... some of the pictures he gave me are hardly visible. There are 2 of her face, profile, and the rest I cant even tell what they are.

Anyone else experience this... maybe this is because I have medi-cal and they dont care as much...?

its about that time for me to go back to work. it just saddens me to think of having to leave my little man with a bunch of strangers. there are alot of daycare centers around here and i'm not sure of how to choose one. they all seem the same to me. what things about the center you chose made you feel like you chose the right place for your little one?

My daughter runs my household! She thinks she can do what she wants when she wants! She doesnt listen she thinks discipline is a game! Ive tried everything! I am a homemaker so i am always there! She has my undying attention 24/7 other then when she is at her dads! She is very destructive wakes up at 4am and gets out of her room and gets into everything! She hits, kicks, bites, screams, yells! I thought getting rid of my abusive ex would make a difference but it seems like since he has been gone its gotten so worse! Help me im at my wits end! I have a 2 year old son who listens and behaves unless his sister gets him to get in trouble! Anyone else have this problem?
any solutions?
