My daughter will be 2 on March 8th. She has been taking off her diaper and brining me a new one when needed for about 3 months now. She is able to say poop and pee pee and will sometimes go on the pot. She is able to wipe herself, but still i dont know if she is completely ready.
i am considering taking a few days off work to try to potty train her. do you think she is ready? and if so...any tips. I have 2 boys (4 and 5 years) but my husband potty trained them mostly by himself.

A babysitter is there to take care of your child/children when you are not present such as working mothers or just a night out. Nanny's on the other hand are there taking care of a child while the parent is present, such is the case with most celebrities. If the parent/parents are present why have a nanny when instead the child could be cared for by the parents. Is child development and child care no longer in the hands of parents anymore, specially those who are in high society?

My husband and I are having issues coming up with a name for a little girl. We already decided to name a son after him. The first name for a girl would be Ananda. But what middle name goes well with that? We're not that far along, but this is just one of those convos that came up in the excitement.

I know some women have done this because I've heard it in conversation.
How many other women that you know of that have got pregnant because they wanted to, without regard to the man.

A couple we hang around with is not in control of their child and when we try to discipline our daughter in their presence the husband will almost always question our reasoning or method. for instance. He asked if our daughter could have Coke w/ her lunch ...( I said no, We just give it as A treat)....he gave me a strange look and said..." how would you like it if someone was telling you what to do all the time" ....Its strange but he seems to think like the parent that wants the kids to think hes cool or something or a good buddy without setting limits. He interferes with our discipline because if it.

Hi I just wanted to share this with you all. My son has had excema since he was a little baby and I have tried every lotion and potion going but recently I started using Johnsons & Johnsons baby bath (blue bottle) to wash him with. It has now been a good few weeks and he has not had another breakout. This may not work for every child but it can be worth a try to save your little one from all that discomfort. Use only a little amount in the palm of your hand and lather it up before putting on their skin. I hope this helps.

I know all kids talk at different stages and different times. My little cousin will be three in March and his speech is VERY limited. No one at all will acknowlege the fact that there might be a problem. The least you can do is get it checked. But I'm not going to say anything to his mother. She is extremely opinionated and I don't want her to get mad. My cousin says: "mom" "dad" "hi" "bye" and FEW other words. He is an only child so there is no older child who does all the talking for him. Just wondering if there was any advice. I'm kind of worried.

I’m always looking for ways to make my children’s life safer, but with more than half the products I have in my house that says, "Keep out of reach of Children it’s hard to keep them safe. I have all the safety gadgets but they get into everything. I was reading a parent magazine and read a write-up called “Mr. No-No Saves Children’s Lives”. Read your kids the book then put stickers of Mr. No-No on things you don't want your children to touch. It says they did a case study on infants to preteens and they documented a one-year-old baby would not touch anything Mr. No-No was on including his stuffed bear. So I went on line, I noticed there are a couple other safety characters, but they are stupid. Looks like allot of time and effort went into Mr. No-No. Some characters were just outright pathetic. Would it be easier for children to learn to stay away from Mr. No-No or just try to keep teaching them all places & things not to touch? Check it out www.mrnono.com let me know what you think.

and blood clots come out. I've heard that it was sometimes its just the mucus plug and the pregnancy would be fine. I'm hoping it's not a miscarriage, because I experienced some bloating, fatigue, frequent urination, & some heartburn a few weeks before I got on my period. That's what made this monthly cycle different, because it came a few days earlier than it was supposed to. And when I got on my period it was lighter than usual, but then some clots passed through and I'm hoping it's just the mucus plug. Even with the clots, is the pregnancy still possible.

In most western countries, intimate touching between parent and child usually is frowned upon by society with the exception of breast-feeding.

However, in some cultures, intimacy between parents and child are very profound and even at a level we would consider sexual. For example, in some countries mothers regularly stimulate their male infants' genitals. Much closer intimacy between parent and child is observed well into the child's adulthood, though never reaching the level of incest/intercourse etc.

Psychologist suggest that such intimacy between parent and child fosters a much healthier and stronger bond between child and parent which often last a lifetime. They say this results in less violent behavior, overall healthier sexual lifestyles, and a more balanced mental state for the young adult.

Very little research has been done on this subject in the US because scientists fear a certain stigma.

We have one of the world most sexually dysfunctional societies.

It has been 32 days since my last period, I am having a few tell tale signs of pregnancy that I have tried tricking myself into believing they are something else besides pregnancy so that I don't get my hopes up, My female parts down below are swollen a bit so I just think in my head maybe that is normal so I don't look too much into things and get my hopes up. I am not going to test until the 30th just to be sure but the suspense is killing me already I just want to know. My doc won't see me until I have missed a period by more than a week. I should be starting any day now so while waiting I am trying to keep my mind off it . My boobs are sore on the sides like underneath my arm pits and the soreness is going towards the center of my breasts. My aerola's are drastically bigger and there is a dark ring around my nipple and even my nipples are bigger. There are tiny white dots on them as well. I keep feeling little twinges in my lower tummy.

In my husband's ethnic tradition the child's middle name is always the father's first name- no matter if it's a girl or a boy. We thought this would be odd in the US so we used my mother in law's name for my daughter's middle name, which I just happen to like, and it still sort of made a family tie-in.

We're expecing a second child and starting to think about names. It's hard enough to find a nice first name that goes with our last name. Although I am sure we'll succed in finding a nice first name, there is no family member's first that I would particularly care to use as a middle name and to just pick something that is not a family member's name seems so arbitrary. What is the point of a middle name anway- you never use it. Do you know of anyone that just skipped out on the middle name for their kids? Or does anyone know the significance of a middle name for practical reasons? We are not Smiths or Joneses. There is no danger of this kid being confused with someone else!

Im sure you've seen my questions. Im 15 and i had a pregnancy scare, but i had my period and negative tests, no symptoms. My boyfriend and i agreed, no more sex, and if that means no passionate kissing then so be it. We dont want to run the risk of getting out of control. We've been together a year now, we're close with each others families, and we don't want to ruin things. We don't need sex to be close, just the opposite. Thanks for advice everyone, even the people who were smartasses about it :)
