I'm taking my son ....who is 2 and 1/2 to Philly for my brother's birthday and my husband couldn't go, so it's just the 2 of us. What are some great things to take on a plane to occupy his attention? Last time we were on a plane he was just about 2 and........let's just say.........it was rough!
Thanks for any advice! :o)

Well, when I go on the plane with my 3yr old I always have to have his favorite toy(IMPORTANT). Some cars, trains, crayons and coloring book. You have to have a little bag exclusive for toys, not a big one or lots of toys, though, just his favorites. And during the flight be changing then. Try for him not to nap during the day before the plane, so that way in the plane maybe, just maybe he'll catch some zzz's. Hope it helps

Take some new toys (mine likes to take his thomas computer) or toys that your little one has not seen in a while, some snacks ( gerber fruit/veggie puffs are great). Take along an empty sippy cup to fill with water or juice while on the plane to help with the ears popping. Try to get him his own seat preferablly window. Mine liked to play with the seat buckle and look out the window while we were taking off and landing. Also remember if your little one is not pottytrained take extra diapers, wipes, and a set of clothes( incase they get air sick). And a plastic grocery bag to put the mess in that you can tie up the handles.

Kids music on your ipod or cd player or whatever.
Books to read to him.
Simple toys (not a lot of pieces to get dropped and lost).
Simple snacks and juice (if not available from flight attendant).
Favorite blanket or pillow, teddy bear, etc.
Magna Doodle or other drawing toy that he has not already gotten tired of. Or a toy computer with games for his age.

Try to get a night flight so they can sleep. I had to take my 2 1/2yr old and 2 month old on a 36hr greyhound ride...Then a month later was a 6hr plane ride. Good Luck!
