I have taken my 5 yr old son to the doctor several times and had his nose cauterized. Now it won't stop bleeding. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

I do not want an amniocentesis; the Dr's tried to give me one today. I do not want to cause my baby any more problems. Instead I had AFP blood work done, results don't come back for another 2weeks so they booked me an Amnio appointment for next week (I am only going to get another ultrasound and then I am going to decline the Amnio) I want to see if the bowel obstruction clears up on its own. And then a follow up appointment in two weeks when my blood work comes back. They are saying that the cpc or brain cyst could be a genetic abnormality like down syndrome or it could be nothing and then the bowel obstruction could be the swallowing of some blood from the amniotic sac or it could be yet another genetic abnormality like downs or cystic fibrosis. One or the other might be nothing but two is cause for concern and I am scared. I have just cancelled my flight home for Christmas as I cant face my in laws, instead I will stay here do research, any Dr's or mothers out there please advise me

My pediatrician has a bad habit--slow to return calls! Once it took her nurse two days to get back to me just so I could ask a question!

Here's tonight's story (just one of several):

My son (2 years) has a common cold with a nagging cough. After hours of non-stop coughing I called the doctor around 3 this afteroon. The nurse was concerned enough that she was going to request a prescription to quiet the cough for the night. I never heard from them!! I had to call the on-call doctor, and thankfully, he had my doctor's notes: she had okay'd the prescription but no one called it in, and no one called me! (By this time, it was 7 and the pharm closes at 8)

I don't expect immediate responses, but when my child is sick, I want to get him help or advice pretty quickly.

Is this typical of doctor's offices? I know mistakes / miscommunication happens, but it seems to happen frequently in this office.

Just wondering (and venting).

no one is a vampire. and if you have photos, then you were probably wearing make-up. i don't care what you say you are or what, i want to document your behavior and check it with science. not everything has an answer, but vampires are not real, unless they are bats or the thing that is supposedly El Chupacabra (which is most likely a wild dog). do you agree with me?

I have 2 children, 2 1/2 Years old and 10 months old that'll both be sleeping before we even leave the house and will probably sleep through the night. I hired my cousin to babysit. I have to pick her up and drop her off, she is also spending the night. How mush do you think is a resonable rate to pay her?

I'm supposed to be twelve weeks into my pregnancy...on my last sonogram the sonographer only found a 7wk sac and what she believed to be a 6wk fetal pole...with my last bloodwork they found that my hcg had gone down....now today i have been spotting some with a few small and i mean (small) clumps in it...it has a strange odor and i'm starting to cramp considerably...should i go to the emergency room? Or just wait it out...i don't want to bother them unnecessarily.....thanks for your suggestions.....

me and my husband have been together 8 years and we want a baby but i cant get pregnant . My 16 mo old daughter has begun insisting I spend every second on the floor with her or holding her. If I have to cook dinner or do something for even a second she has a complete and total meltdown.

Should I just let her have a fit for a while with the thought that she can't demand every second? How will she ever learn she can't have everything she wants instantly? Or does she really need me now?

I have been sick since Tuesday and I seem to be getting a little better. Anyway, I am pregnant and I was wondering if this is hurting my baby in any way? She's 8 months old & there are 3 ppl living in our house who all have caught strep throat in the past 2 days. She doesn't show any symptoms yet, but if she does catch it, how do I go about making her pain more tolerable?

It's been horrible for me, I know it's just going to be worse for her bc she's never been sick before ...

I'd just hate to see her suffer.
