How long will it be before labor starts after the cervix starts thinning?

My son is visually impaired. He has partial vision. He is 15 months old and doesn't even say mama and dada when he wants us. I know he knows what those words mean, becuase when I say, let's go get daddy, he perks up and starts looking around for his daddy. He says "uh huh" and shakes his head no. That the closest thing I can get to any kind of verbal response. Have you ever dealt with this before? Do you have any suggestions for me? Do you know of any good online resources that deal with infants and toddlers with visual impairments. I am esspecially looking for something that offers suggestions about how to help my son develop normally. Right now it is mostly his language and communication skills that are effected. Thanks.

Hi ladies,
I need help... I have been having some major concerns this past week. I am 21 years old and have been on the pill since age 15. Just last week I had sex with my ex (really stupid mistake) I am on the pill and did not let him do anything inside me since we are not together. I thought I was at least being responsible in that sense. I ended my period the day before we had sex. However, I have been having really strange symptoms that sound similar to pregnancy this week. I have severe lower abdomin cramping predominatly on my left side, lower and upper back ache, and now just recently bleeding both clotty and light, and cervical swelling. I am stressing myself out and took a pregnancy test today with a not pregnant result. There are are a few things that I can think that may contribute... early miscarriage, pregnancy (too early to detect), kidney infection, or an ovarian cyst (had one before that ruptured and don't recall this much bleeding), or an STD. PLEASE HELP! Much Thanks

All the books say to start feeding solid foods when they have enough teeth to chew, but he only has 2 teeth so far and i have him on stage 2 foods still and he just turned 1. I feel stupid and my sister feeds him stage 3's when im not around, but i just cant force myself to do it! i think i wont be able to save him if he does start choking. Or am i doing it right since he only has 2 teeth???

Ok....I am 11 ALL my friends have BIG boobs I mean like a 36B.....THEY R younger than me!!!! I had all my signs (exept big boobs but they are little balls inside) Sometimes the girls hurt me there and I say OWWWW! and they say back why are u hurting? U ain't got none! Gosh I wish they would GROW!!!

and have already been to the e.r for extreme cramping. My baby is fine, they believed it was a ruptured cyst, and now think it could be my gull bladder. I think it's gas. Really BAD gas. Belching and farting have become all to familiar to my everyday schedule. Has anyone got any advice on how to cure this gas problem????

My bf and I had sex on the last day of my period last month n came in me. Then another 18 times after that till 2 days ago. We were pretty sure that I was pregnant because my breasts gotten bigger n were sore, I felt nausea through out the days, hot n cold flashes, n mood changes. Today I woke up bleeding like it was my period but its lighter than my usual period n im cramping which is wierd cause I never got cramps before on my normal period.
