If you really like the name or it has deep, personal meanings, why not use it as a middle name? I had a friend whose name is Daniel Mallory S. Mallory is also historically a male name... The thing is, most girl names are actually names of ancient or old family or clan surnames... they just sounded so different and unusual in the hey day that parents began to name their daughters after them and they sorta became established as female in our society... Yes, he will get teased if it's his first name, so think about that... Good Luck!!! Nope, don't ever name a guy Courtney, Devyn, Tristen, Kasey, or Lauren.
Personal suggestions:
Parker, Austin, Pierce, Jett, Quinn, Reid, Dustin, Donovan, Reece, Kent, Ethan, Ronan, Gavin, Clark, Hunter, Luke, Trever, Trent, Tyler, Jerrod.....
Beware of what nicknames your son would receive!!!

You're not asking for trouble for yourself as much as you are for your poor son.
You're right, Courtney is properly a male name, but there has been a rush to name girls by boys' names (Hillary comes to mind). People are going to see it as a girl's name, and act accordingly.
Why not Henry? It was not only the name of many English kings, but was my father's name, as well. Not only a dignified name, but also comes complete with the nickname Hank.

Yes, please don't name your son Courtney! I dated a guy with a girl's name and it was the thing he hated most about his life. And the poor guy's parents didn't even give him a middle name he could go by. Not only will kids be mean, but he will spend his adult life correcting people who think they heard his name wrong. I think just 'Court' is a nice and different name, and it definitely sounds masculine.

Possibly. However, the nickname - Cort - is definitely considered masculine, and I personally love that name. You could officially name him Courtney but call him Cort. We did something similar with our son, who has a very long first name but it shortens to a 3-letter name.

Yes, I think he may be teased as he gets older. Names and teasing can stick with a child the rest of their lives. A few names I can think of are Victor, Trek, Job, Grant, Monty. Good Luck with your son!

yes, you are asking for trouble - try a name like Avery or Riley or Jordan that is more male and female if you want something universal - or how about Carter or Cash or something like that
Good luck!

I dont think that there is anything wrong with naming a boy that, in fact, if I was to have a boy, I would have named him paige ashley, most people think that is torture, but i dont. I personally have " double gendered" names.....Mallory Ashton and i'm a female
