My friend keeps having baxton hicks in one week she went from 0 to almost 4 cm. I keep telling her she should call the doctor because baxton hicks or not you could still dilate and at five you have to go to the hospital and she doesn't believe. I had my son with baxton hicks, I went five days with them went to the hospital and ended up being in labor I would have off the track contractions and they would stop for and hour or two then start up. They finially induced me after a day, but they were considered baxton hicks right because they won't consistence. But her mom is telling her baxton hicks can't bring on labor and you can't dilate from them and she doesn't go to the doc again for another week, plus she is techanically 3 weeks early this another reason she doesn't believe me. Please let me know so I can show her the answers

Yesterday my test said +, today it is negative. Does the test only say + for one day? I thought it was like the day before and the day of, or something like that.

all previous attempts, but now loves the bottle. I'm still breastfeeding, but now his suck is so strong he's tearing up my nipples! I swear, the top where the nipple meets the areola is cracked and it hurts so bad...what do I do? I want to continue to breastfeed! Help please!

I had an eduacational video game for my five-year old, the V-tech, and I became very concerned when he would prefer it over any other toys, and going outside. When he played I noticed he was alomost zombie-like, which is one thing for an adult, but children's brains are still developing!! After a couple of arguments about it, I ended up getting rid of it. I also don't have television. We have a TV that we play videos and dvd's (approved by me) on, and that's it. I think the stuff on TV is garbage, and really negative.
I feel like I am making the right decision, but I wonder about his social interactions. We all remember how cool it was to talk about Atari, or Nintendo at school or whatever...("I made it to world 8, and beat the dragon!!") and I wonder if I'm setting my son up for feeling left out? If the kids at school or camp talk about the latest TV show, my son may wonder why he doesn't know what the hell they're talking about!!!
I want to raise a kind boy, but am I too strict

my daughter goes to her grandma's every saturday from 10am -2 while im working . well shes been tell hubby and i that the kids needed a hair cut and hubby told her not to think about it that they were fine.

well here it is saturday a day after he told her this and they picked me up form work and my daughters hair was cut.
You would no believe how angry i was . I got home and let it dwindle but its not working i called my hubby and he was no help how do i deal with this ?

my doughter will be 20 months in july, she was born 2 months early, she is not walking yet she doesnt even stand up on her own and when she kind of tryes ( she doesnt really try too much) she stands all zaggy and wierd is this normal or sould she be walking or trying at least by now?

My 3 year old son loves math very much. He knows his numbers even to millions and can already do addition and subtraction. He is starting to grasp the concept of multiplication. He loves problem solving ("If you have 11 pencils and I have 10 pencils, how many pencils do we have"), and we do this all the time - in the car, during meal times and before going to bed. We're going to a vacation and the first thing he packs is his abacus.

He goes to a Montessori school because we know that this is an environment that will not restrict him and nurture his talents. He loved school so much, and his teachers are great. They certainly encouraged him, and the work he does now are those of the 5 year old kids (Montessori puts together kids 3-5 in one class). He's got a passion for books (preferably math books), and we're now starting on Grade 2 math books.

My question is -- how can I as a parent encourage him while making sure that I don't push him too far? Thanks

let me first say i just had her at the dr's yesterday . she said to use benadryl to try and dry her up and baby ary and then suck the snot
out. which she hates. but her little nose is so red and is becoming chapped from wiping it constantly. last night she was up at 2 am
because she was so stuffed up she was having trouble breathing.
i gave her benadryl and the ary and sucked all the snot out that i could. and she was able to sleep until the morning. but giving her
benadryl scares me to . it makes her sleepy. and i worry that the combanation of being so sleepy and having a hard time breathing might cause her to stop breathing in her sleep.
i realize your not dr's (to those who want to make a snide remark
about my asking this question on yahoo answers) but there are a lot of moms out there with more experense than i . and i could use a bit of advise.. thank you

im 18 and i dont think im doing what my mum imagined id do, i have a boy who's 2, a boy who is 11months and i'm pregnant with my third.
people might think im wierd but i dont dream that my kids will become lawyers and things, i just dream imagine that they will be like my friends are now. i'm not saying i want them to be doleys just that i know the lifestyle i'm in will be the 1 that they grow up in, and i'm cool with that. i'm not exactly strict on my boys, i let them work it out for hemselves, if they want to grow up and can't be bothered to do well in school thats up to them. what do u think? do you think there is a right or wrong way to bring up kids?

he has a pacifier thermometer and its kinda fast he also has a thermometer for the ear and its so fast and also he has an under arm/ rectal one they all give me diffrent readings what is the best way? how do you do it?

really its my son 20 yr old son and he wont listen to me . i though if i had something in black and white he would take it more seriouse..his dr.only told him to stay away from fatty foods..will wine or other alchol drink effect him. i am just worried about him

one boy is going on twelve and the youngest is going on ten. they problrm is now they are in the curiousity stage bothe me and my room-mate smoke cigarettes. the oldest boys has been stealing from us- cigarettes they boys say they have been stealing them for their friends. what is the best method to approach this. even though we are setting the example to smoke.

Everyone tells me I am anerexic because in a day I only eat 1 apple per meal. I am 5'2, 12, and 60 pounds. I think I need to lose at least another 20 pounds to be considered on the skinny side. Dont u?
