They have better equipment and absolutely NO accountability!

Seems to me the troops are the least considered in this equation!

...after being elected to stop it? They could, at anytime, block funding for the Iraq blunder. Why haven't they?

Why did they use people to get into office and then not stop the war they spoke so adamantly against while running in 06?

Who was the do-nothing rep who wore his son's combat boots and decried the wasted lives in the war? What has he done since being elected?

I watching President Bush on CSPAN in a White House Q&A session this morning and he made a statement that Congress needs to create a bill that will block even Americans who might want to sue a company contracted to work in Iraq and Afghanistan.

This legislation would make it impossible for the young woman from Texas who was ganged raped by 6 or 7 KBR employees to go after the company and or the employees who perpetrated the crime for damages. None of the perpetrators in this case have been arrested. In case you haven't heard of this story yet here's the link:

This is an American woman who took the job with KBR in Iraq to show her patriotic support of the U.S. and this is the thanks she gets????

Why would the President block her or the dozens of other U.S. women who have claimed similar crimes from having their day in court?

Please contact your local state reps and let them know how you feel about this!!!

Calif. family blames HMO in girl's death

The family of a 17-year-old leukemia patient blamed Cigna Corp. on Friday for her death, saying the health insurance giant's initial refusal to pay for a liver transplant contributed to her death.

If Universal Healthcare ever becomes a reality, I wonder if a family will be able to sue the government if something like this happens?

Yeah. Israeli propaganda network GIYUS has put out the call ,using their MEGAPHONE software, for all their minions to get on as many Internet chat rooms and forums as possible and smear RON PAUL by trying to falsely connect him to white supremacy.

I knew as soon as Bush took over, the Middle East was going to blow up again. All the work Clinton did as a diplomat over there to try to simmer things down have gone to total sh*t....way to go Bush. I am still undecided with regards to Clinton or Obama....I'm just glad it will not be another Bush in power after the next election.

Did Dick Durbin, John Murtha or John Kerry call for congressional hearings to demand the facts?
Did it become front page news in the New York Times and the Washington Post?
Did NBC, CBS, ABC and CNN report on this night after night?
Have YOU heard about this?

Wonder why not.

On December 18th, The Republican Senate minority filibustered an omnibus budget bill, setting a modern-day record for blocking the most legislation during a congressional session. In just the first year of this two-year Congress, their use of the filibuster in the Senate topped the previous record, reached during the entire 107th Congress (also by the Republicans).

Way to go Republicans, thwarting the will of the majority! You must be soooo proud of yourselves.

Most theories, it seems, suggest that economic superiority proceeds political superiority. But I can't help but notice a striking difference between Ancient and Modern times in relation to this theory.

When I think of power politics in modern times I see countless examples of a new or existing state that suddenly gains and economic edge which is a precursor to later political gains. Take the unification of Germany and Italy. The modernization of Japan and the USSR. The rise of the British Empire.

But in ancient times the story seems to be reversed. Rome, compared to the territories in the East it conquered, was relatively poor and backwards in almost every field. Likewise when Rome collapsed it wasn't to a more economically superior competing state or coalition, it was scattered waves of poor Germanic and Central Asian tribes. Macedonia and Alexander the Great were similarly poor and backwards compared to their victims the Persian Empire.

Anyone have some insight?
