There are two reasons.
First, Ron Paul's libertarian position makes him unelectable--he is simply not going to appeal to the mainstream of American voters.
The second is the nature of the supporters he does have. He has attracted a strong following among white supremecists and other bigots. That's NOT a criticism of Paul--I don't think he is a racist himself, and many of his supporters arenot, eiter. But that source of support is going to cause many Americans to back away--if for no other reason that they don't want to be asociated with white trash. That may not be a fair assessment of Ron Paul or most of his suporters--but that's the way it is.

And he has badly damaged his image by not rejecting financial contributions from known racists. That is, I think, not hypocrisy on his part--but it is very poor judgement.

It also goes to one o fthe problems with libertarianism asa political platform (at least as it is currently constructed). Philosophically, libertarian thinking is absolutely opposed to racist thinking or any other form of discrimination. However, in trying to bring libertarian philosophy into the real-world political arena, Ron Paul and other political libertarians have ignored critical real -world problems. For exampele--while they may well have a point about getting the federal government out of funding--or supervising---local schools, they have NOT addressed the cold, ard fact that this dwould open the door to discriminatory practices by racists.

The racists have recognized this--that's why they are supporting Ron Paul. So have many decent Americans--which is why they WON'T vote for Ron Paul.

Well that would be because the polls are rigged. You see what happened was during the first debate Ron Paul kicked asss in the poll. Well Fox news activists immediately put it down to 2 supporters of Paul hammering the text vote in his favour, ridiculous I know but hey, it's fox news. You know? Anyway ever since they have decided that they (the people that control the media) would divide his share of any voting by the public by 1000. So basically every 10,000 votes he receives now they automatically give him 10. If you want to know how much support the man really has I suggest you go to the man directly. You will see for yourself how many supporters the man has around him at any one time. You don't break online donation records a week before Christmas if you have twenty supporters.

The other polls are fixed by the mainstream media, and any polls that he wins aren't shown!

He's often left off of polls too!

His supporters are loud and crazy bunch.
It doesn't make him the leader, just the loudest.

But, good God, I hope he wins. It would be the funniest election ever. He is seriously moonbat, off his rocker, crazy.
