*tries out there? Sweden is a good example. Are the people who oppose this system only do so because they are rich capitalists and like exploiting their workers and think they deserve billions while the workers deserve minimum wage?

When I see posts by people who suggest Bush is a war criminal and should be imprisoned, and comments like confiscate all the companies assets that are involved in Iraq I have to ask the American left - what is the difference between your positions and Hugo Chavez's regime?

Does this mean you will imprison those who politically disagree with you? Does it mean you plan to nationalize corporations you don't like? Is that the agenda of the American left?

Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said in a written proposal that a final declaration by OPEC leaders, who arrive here Saturday for a two-day summit, should express concern by member states over the fall of the US dollar.
Reacting to the request, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal Saudi Arabia's foreign minister warned that mentioning the falling dollar could lead to the "collapse" of the US currency.
"There are media people outside waiting to catch this point and they will add to it (exaggerate) and we may find that the dollar collapses," he said.
Member states should express concern over "the continued depreciation of the US dollar" in the final declaration, Mottaki said.

Wouldn't it be better if we get rid of money, but instead distrubuted equal amount of basic resources to everyone, so that one person doesn't get more based on rank or job, but instead we are equal?

or that scientists publish wacko theories because it earns them cash?

for one, scientists who speak out against AGW still get grants. in fact, they get paid MORE than scientists who support the AGW theory -- exxon mobile will fund just about any scientist who speaks out against it.

two, if the scientists were simply publishing inflammatory work for cash, doesn't it seem ironic that it's mainly only happening in one field (climatology)? besides, it's not really inflammatory work when just about ALL the other work out there supports the exact same conclusion. if anything, if they were publishing inflammatory material, wouldn't it go AGAINST the consensus, wouldn't it be anti-AGW work???? lastly, scientists only get a ton of cash (in grant money, that is) for wacko theories if they stand and pass peer review. they're not going to get any money for saying some random thing. they have to support their "wacko theory"
