I KNOW that I am a good American.

I serve my country and defend The Constitution and The Bill of Rights.

you are is you're NOT "your".

I am a good American because I work hard, educated myself and stay educated, pay my taxes (probably more than I should), follow our laws, vote, pay my bills and don't have debt, we recycle, watch our energy use and have given back to various volunteer and non-for-profit organizations.

In addition I have raised two children with the same respect and work ethic. They are both college grads who have followed my lead and they are gainfully employed now paying their unfair share in taxes, have little to no debt and watch their pennies and natural resource use.

We also realize that to protect our freedoms as loyal Americans we cannot assume our government and those involved in it are of the same thought process or altruism, so keep informed and constantly question and watch the functioning of our elected officials to protect the strength of our country for further generations.

Well that would require a definition of "good" American as opposed to a bad or just plain American. I consider myself a fine young American though no matter the definition.

Yes I do in general. However I'd like to think that the things that make me a good American are also things that simply make me a good person.

Yeah... I'm pretty good.

I challenge the system but I do so legally. I have never punched or hit another person.... never been in a fight.

I have never stolen anything.

I no longer use drugs (in recovery) and I don't drink either.

Some people would like to paint me as a "bad" american though because I am gay and vote democrat because I am pro-union... but to me, that just makes me more "good".
