I just went over to Y!A "What's New" to read up on this latest "REPORT IT" button situation and why they've created it. There is a lot of decent information over there and I've copied and pasted some of it:

1. Click on the Report It button when you see a question or answer that violates the new Community Guidelines.
2. Once you submit your report, a new behind-the-scenes process begins. This system automatically measures the contributions and reporting history of both the reporter and the person being reported.
3. The new system then determines whether it can remove the reported question or answer directly from the site based on community input or whether further review is needed.
4. Since this is a Beta, Yahoo! Customer Care will continue to assist in reviewing reported questions and answers. They will also continue to address appeals to violations.
We realize the concept of community moderation is potentially scary, so we built the system to rely on the reputations of community members. Reputations will be built up over time and fluctuate based on the accuracy of an individual’s contributions.
Community members who build a record of correctly reporting questions and answers that violate our guidelines will become a trusted reporter and gain influence when they report. On the other hand, misuse of the new system will result in a lowered reputation. A low reputation means that the power to report and remove potential abuse is diminished, and may even risk suspension.
So there you have it. With this new system, the community now has a vital role in building the value and health of Answers. We’ve updated the Community Guidelines with your input, and will continue to refine them. Even the violation appeals process has been cleaned up.
Although there will undoubtedly be bumps in the road, we believe this is an important step in the right direction. We’ll work with you to make improvements and modifications, so post your feedback in the suggestion boards. We remain dedicated, like so many millions of you, to fostering the health and continued growth of Answers.

Thanks,

The Yahoo! Answers Team
This is not all of the information they have listed, so I’ve provided the link:
http://blog.360.yahoo.com/y_answrs_team;_ylt=AkuidMldrZA46rRiY5sum84_zKIX
So based on this information, do you think that this will make a lot of the bad stuff go away? Reporting violations that aren’t violations? Will it cut down on the trolls, or create more?

I’m asking this in politics because we’ve had so many complaints about people getting suspended and receiving violations that aren’t justified.

When will the US Dollar crash? My prediction is 2 months after Hillary takes office. She will "rub the republicans nose in it" by declassifing the amount of money we are printing to fight 2 wars and announce there is no gold left at Fort Knox. Don't worry about me, I'm transfering me and my family's wealth to Thailand. Thailand has gold roofs and they are already growing fuel.

Seems we are also after control of the water in the region . Iraq is central to water distribution through out the middle east .

Seems that pumping sea water into oil wells has a nasty side effect of making the soil sterile above the areas it is pumped into .

SO pumping out the oil is creating a waste land of the middle east .

You can not get oil out of the ground without pumping water in .

So in the near future what would people want . Water for fields and to survive on or profits from oil wells .

We all know the answer to that one right .

Reduce the population and its need for water is the answer .

Every 100,000 people is 10,000,000 more barrels of oil .

The Bush plan is working as he expected it too .

Water pipes lines are being completed all over Iraq to provide the needed water to pump into oil wells .

The people are limited to what they can carry or is trucked in .

You have to admire a bold plan like this one done in the open .

Now that the ratings show the Republican debate on Fox, as the most watched debate thus far... Do you think it was a mistake for the Democrats to refuse to appear on the network?

What do they pump into the oil wells to keep them producing .
Water of course .

In the middle east would you pump your water into the oil wells or simply slow production .

The choice between oil and water for the people is obvious .

You give the water to the people right .

Well Bush and big oil have other plans for that water .

Oh what a deceitful Group of people we have leading America .

Why are Osama and al Zahiri still alive (while almost 4000 of our troops are dead in Iraq) so they can keep making video tapes?

Osama Bin Laden's appearance mocks the mighty USA. It says that with all our resources we have not been able to find one man...

It also shows that the Iraqis have died in vain, whilst Pakistan and Saudi Arabia where the REAL terrorists are being trained and are from.....

Another success for the Bush administration?

I recently read that we never actually gave Saddam Chemical WEAPONS (emphasis weapons), that we, in fact, only gave the cure to chemical weapons that Iran was believed to have possesed and Saddam and Chemical Ali simply reverse engineered them.

Is this true? If you answer "yes" or "no" please provide SCHOLARLY (meaning no wikipedia or .com sites guys) proof.

Thank you.

Some claim that our troops are responsible for these deaths and that it is a shame that they have but then as soon as they are called on not supporting the troops they say that they do support them. Is this suggesting that they support these so called deaths by our troops?

Here is a link to the findings of the death toll (supposedly, our fault)
