If you don't think the government should be able to control male reproduction rights why is it acceptable for the government to control a woman's?

You can cry about "well the woman should have thought about that beforehand".....well I agree but until the day comes when rape and incest don't exist then abortion should remain an option!!!
Some of you seem to think that no good church going Republican conservative woman has ever had an abortion!!
Well they have and do, more than you care to admit!!!

why not: LOL! I do not want that at all dearheart! I want men to accept the fact that they need to take some responsibilities here too!!!
Women are not having sex alone. But they are the ones who more often than not have to try and figure out how to raise children with little or no support from the fathers.
Just flipping it on you guys for a minute!=)

Everytime I hear the rape/incest argument, I get a little more curious. Are rapists bizarrely more fertile than the rest of us, or has the number of pregnancies actually caused by rape been dramatically overexaggerated? Heaping one tragedy on top of another resolves neither of them. It's never been about controlling a woman's body, but about protecting innocent lives. People also argue that a fetus isn't a person, but just a cluster of cells. The same can be said for all of us. Convenience isn't an excuse for murder in any other circumstance, so why this one?
I do understand your reticence, and I'm actually not really decided on the issue myself. Nobody likes to be told they can't do something. Fortunately it's mostly academic for me, because I don't have a uterus of my own.
However, I feel strongly that it's a question that's being asked in the wrong forums (generally, not yours specifically). Politicians have demonstrated time and again that they are unfit to make moral decisions, and considering that abortion is mostly a medical procedure, I feel strongly that the ethics of it should be determined by the AMA. There needs to be a balance struck between medical safety, and the value of human life, and doctors happen to be experts in both of those fields.

I always get so infuriated and angry at this cynical "it's-a-war-between-the-sexes" theory behind the abortion issue.
If the Supreme Court had at least 5 versions of Phyllis Schafly on it in 1973, then Roe v. Wade would not have happened, would it? Grrrrrr, ..........
And for your information, the first ever Surpeme Court decision regarding "reproductive rights" was in fact about a state government that was trying to prohibit a MAN from having any children in the future. The state of Oklahoma was going to sterilyze a guy by the name of Skinner, but the Supreme Court stopped it and declared that sterilization of anyone (male or female) in unconstitutional. That was in 1942, Skinner v. Oklahoma.
I do think that rapists should be castrated. Is that good enough for you?

I barely want the government to regulate anything. Especially when it comes to my little troopers. I do not think abortion should be illegal and I do not think it should matter to other people what one woman decides to do with hers. People need to get the hell out of everyone else's business and pay mind to their own dumbass kids running around. If abortion were more prevalent we would probably have a better society as it seems to me that most of the people who continue to get abortions are not the sharpest knife in the drawer anyway. I say we need to kill more babies not less and we need to start today otherwise "Idiocracy" will happen and for anyone who's seen that movie, you know what I'm talking about.

Do we get a switch? It'd be nice if we get a switch. I mean, I have nothing against condoms other than the obvious.
So, if you have a steady partner and you don't want little buggers, I say hurray for the pill. I know, I know, it's not us risking cancer. But then again, it makes women SHAPELY. he hehe... gotta love the pill- said some misogynistic bastard.
No, for real. Wat is it with this people wanting men and women to keep their genitalia in their pants? Screw that. Sex is good whether it is with a life partner or a girl whose name you can't remember.
As long as you understand basic hygienics, go ahead and hump.
As for abortion... mistakes happen, let's put it behind us. If Americans want to save innocent lives they should stop bombing civilians. That easy.

I am a Republican who believes it should be the woman's choice until viability, around 7ish months, and then banned with a medical necessity exception. If a woman can't figure out she needs an abortion in 7 months then she DOES deserve what she gets. If it can live on its' own and you kill it, that's murder. What's your position sweetpea?

If you're offering up free vasectomies, there are guys who would probably run for that. But having the government come up with a system to regulate or capture and collect sperm not used to fertilize an egg amounts to madness. The equity of male choice and female choice is too complex to go into today, mainly because I don;t have time.

In this misogynist, patriarchal society it'll never happen, but oh what FUN it would be to make THEM wear the chastity belt!!!!
All c***s under lock and key except to pee or procreate.
Not a-one of them would last 24 hours!!
Bruce J:
The fact that my doctor was subpoenaed to produce my medical records to the government to prove that my cholecystectomy in 1998 was not an abortion was all the proof of government intrusion to human rights that I needed.
Never had an abortion, never will, and hopefully never will be in a situation that requires my BF to choose between my life and our child's.
For those of you not med or nursing students, that means I had my gall bladder removed.
EDIT:
kylekuypers: I have a better idea, why don't you dogs learn to keep it in your pants?

Not in my opinion I like my emission rate as it is, OSHA and EPA compliant.
actual abortions in the right wing are in line with the number of homosexuals. Its something they outwardly distance themselves from but in their hearts its home. This falls into the line of weekly forgiveness.

It is not the function of government to prevent pregnancies, nor to financially support unwanted children.
