Every year it seems like the earth gets millions of years older. The dating methods they use cannot be proven to be accurate. Carbon-14 only has a half life of 5730 years. And if you point out this fact they say "oh you must not like math". We must not like "english" either because we don't like your made up story about how everything came about. We must not like "animals" either because we don't believe that our relatives are monkeys.

I heard Pres. Bush mention fighting global warming in a speech at a nuclear power plant the other day. It took me by surprise.
Did he recently accept the global warming theory? Does this mean there will be a Republican approach to the issue?

Elected official are elected to represent the wishes of the majority. Neither party is currently doing this and appear to be concerned only with their private agendas.

What do you think the American people should do?

I came across this story this morning and I agree that she shouldn't be deported because her husband, who has already filed for a green card for her, served in our military and is currently missing in Iraq. She came here illegally, but I personally, have a soft-spot for soldiers who are willing to fight for our country. She should be able to stay. What do you guys think?

(I am against amnesty for illegals, but should their be an exception made for the families of those who fight in our military)

Earlier in the week, the news reported that Congress' approval rating was only 27%, even below Bush's. Today, it has hit a historic low of 14%! Per one article:

"That is the lowest confidence level recorded in the history of Gallup polling on that institution, going back to 1973. The previous low was 18 percent in 1991, 1993 and 1994. Those happen to be the last years before the present that the Democrats controlled both chambers – and in 1991 there was also a Republican named George Bush in the White House."

More Americans believe Elvis may be alive than approve of Congress! So: are Pelosi and Reid moving in the right direction or not?

Should the government legislate what we can listen to?
If Inhofe really heard what he says he heard,we are in trouble in this country. Whether you are a liberal or republican, this should be alarming to you.

So many people are quick to say Bush. They are either ignorant of history, or slept through the 70's.

- gas prices tripled in most places and long lines at gas stations.
- Inflation killed the economy reaching a staggering 21%.
- Unemployment was at the highest levels since the great Depression above 8% nationally, 11% for Blacks in most places.
- the military was in shambles, had no money for training or spare parts.
- the moral in the military was lower than it was during the Viet Nam war.
- the Dow Jones was microscopic compared to today, 4-600!
- the government stole the Olympic dreams of the American athletes by not letting them go to the Moscow Games, even though they had not given one penny to support those athletes in their training.
- allowed 52 hostages to be held for 444 days by Iran!
- got a Nobel Peace Prize for brokering a peace deal that did nothing but hurt Israel and strengthen the Arab terrorists.

Does anyone on this forum really believe that if your candidate gets placed into office as president, that it will really make a difference?

Let's be hypothectical and say that Ron Paul or my candidate, Thompson gets into office or any candidate for that matter. Just how much power will these people have to change anything with the representatives that we have running the hill?

Isn't it time that we began seeking out representatives who might be able to save this country? People who will support term limits thereby, not giving these hooligans the time to be bought by special interest groups? There really isn't a danged thing that will change unless, we start with a clean slate.

Agree or disagree and why?

As many U.S. Troops as possible ?

I Love having BBQ's and having loads of friends over to enjoy and I consider the troops to be Friends as well . I think it'd be Great to be able to invite them over for some fun and R+R . And sometimes I feel guilty that I 'can' and they can't .

So every time you go to the movies , have a bbq , go fishin , play golf , go on vacation , attend a festival or concert. . .you should pause for a moment and remember those who cannot . Especially those who cannot simply because they're protecting YOU .

Doncha think it's be great to host a BBQ for our troops ?
