I heard Pres. Bush mention fighting global warming in a speech at a nuclear power plant the other day. It took me by surprise.
Did he recently accept the global warming theory? Does this mean there will be a Republican approach to the issue?

Honest answer: I don't know! I have given up on trying to figure out why George Bush makes the decisions he does. I understand that people have different opinions on different issues, but honestly, short of a paranoia regarding terrorism and a love of illegal aliens I have no idea where this guy stands on anything anymore.

Yes Bush is really very serious about Global Warming, right....

Some Simple Facts:
Yes, there is Global Warming. It has happened before and it will happen again. Example: Middle ages, the global warming was obviously caused by man then also.

The Ice caps have melted, on average, an insignificant amount, causing the sea level to rise an insignificant amount. I have heard claims that 40% of the ice caps are already gone. If that were true, the sea level would have risen 3 feet. Serious misinformation.

Man contributes only minimally to global warming. I have heard claims that 90% of Climate scientists say man outright caused the global warming. That is an outright lie. The figure is more like 10%. Maybe 90% percent believe that Man CONTRIBUTES BUT NOT CAUSES global warming. Misinformation.

Global warming is a political tool used to divert attention from Big Oils raping of America. It is the latest in a line of intentional distractions by politicians. As others have said the “flavor of the month”. What has your politician done about Big Oil. Probably nothing or misinformation.

Global warming is real but used by Alarmists by horrific exaggerations and careful misinformation. These Alarmists spout various facts and figures with little or no truth while denouncing anything that contradicts their views. I often think their actions remind me of psycho sports fans who freak out if you dare to say anything is wrong with their team.

There is good in the global warming debate. It will reduce pollution and increase energy efficiency. I don’t need lies and misinformation to get me to believe that.

It seems as though George Bush has done a 180 since he took office.I think now hes just saying whatever to keep folks happy until his term is up.So yes, he probably did jump on the global warming nonsense bandwagon. And I'm sure congress, under the tutelage of the great worshipful Pelosi will offer up some type of legislation to appease all her cronies, which Bush will sign to appease all his.I'm just curious, what happened to the Bush I voted for because this isn't him!

He has been talking about that for a few weeks now. Caught me off guard too. I am suprised that there has not been a Republican approach a long time ago. Think of the money big business can make off anti global warming products.

Republican poll numbers went south so now Bush and Republicans have a new found cause to advance in the agenda to hold on to the Senate and put a Republican in the White House. Most I know are not stupid enough to fall for this crap.

Sorry he didn't.
Trying to curb natural GW is like trying to stop earthquakes or volcanoes....IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN! Man is so insignificant to this planet that we can't START GW. We can control pollution but not GW. Besides, what's so bad about the planet being a degree or two higher on the average right after an ice age? Poor little polar bears are gonna drown? They know how to swim people! If they come close to extinction, what good have they done for this planet?! (I know, that's kind of mean but Darwin talks about survival of the fittest so go from there.).

Since the beginning of his presidency he has been talking about the need for alternative fuels, etc... Are democrats just now starting to listen to him?
If Bush makes more efforts to fight global warming, will he then be castrated by the democrats for his efforts?

The word 'bandwagon' is appropriate here...as that is exactly what he did - he jumped on. His previous disregard for the issue was a cause for ridicule, and I guess he saw the need to - at the very least - acknowledge it.

As an aside...he wasn't at a nuclear power plant...HE would have been at a NUCULAR power plant!

Yes, he's on board. Global warming is the ultimate threat to our friends in the middle east and Venezuela.

I guess you weren't paying attention. He never said that we shouldn't do anything to try to combat global warming. It is just that most international approaches have been unfair to the US.
