Michael Moore's view of health care . . . hmm . . . well, despite all his money and undoubtedly top notch health care, he himself is not what I'd consider the picture of health. He looks to be no better in appearance than many other Americans despite his many advantages where health care is concerned. One would think that he would look more like Schwarzenegger in his prime given his access to the superior health care systems of Cuba, Canada and the UK. He should really have considered doing one of his so-called "documentaries" on the atrocious eating habits of the American people - himself included. This is, without question, the biggest crisis in health care today. People of all ages are now shaped like this ( ) instead of this I I because we pollute ourselves with garbage day in and day out. So he can worship the health care systems of Cuba and the UK and Canada all he likes, but how about taking some personal responsibility and investing in his own personal health?

Because it is Michael Moores movie, no matter what the subject matter, it is crap.
Health insurance for all has now been dealt a deathblow because Michael Moore has gotten involved. This is the worst thing that could have happened.
The movie will be classified as fiction. There will be numerous scenes found to be lies or serious distortions of the truth, just like all of his movies.

I think Moore is a talented satirist. I have throughly enjoyed his work from 'Roger and Me' all the way to the sensationalist masterpiece 'Fahrenheit 911' including his Socially Conscious Reality TV show "The Awful Truth'.
If your read his interview on Democracy Now!, it almost looks as though he is taking a new direction with Sicko. It appears as though he learned from the failures of 911 and decided to take a less vindictive approach.
Either way, Michael Moore is one of the few socially conscious AV producers in the US. Even in NY it is hard to find good films that are sympathetic to the everyday oppressed and which show disrespect for the blood-drunk parasites who rule us all.
Not to say 911 was worthy of much praise, the whole thing is an audiovisual tabloid. Yet in my view, of all the people who get the Yellow Journalism treatment, who better than the Band of Rogues who have been ruling this country in a savage blood lust since that adulterous Irishman had his first orgy in 1600 Penn Ave.
Which is to say that I will watch the film as soon as I can regardless of whether it is honest and direct or sly and disingenuous because if anybody deserves a kick in the nuts its the weasel mafia who control the Health Industry from insurers to doctors. A disgusting band of half rate thugs who think that 8 years of schooling grants them a license to blackmail, protected by dimwit insurance agents who go easily confused for your usual bureaucrat rodents and so have managed to infiltrate the highest levels of the US political sewer.
edit: all those people saying Michael Moore lies... are you kidding? Have you ever been to the US? The last honest person to step on American soil was shot on the head by the FBI during the high years of COINTELPRO. Your President got you all to sacrifice your children for a war based on lies. Your last President llied to a Grand Jury. The one before invaded two countries headed by allies that were suddenly proclaimed as thugs, were they nice before? Nixon, had to go on TV to let us all know he was not a crook, even though he would later start a secret war on Cambodia and assault the Demos with a gang of half wit thugs. Suddenly Checkers stops being a big deal.
For all you self-righteous puritans... your country has been hi jacked by the lowest of the low and all you can say is that the one man opposition is too fat? or that he stretches the truth? Please! as if your media broadcast anything BUT lies.

I will most assuredly see this film. Moore took rescue workers from 9/11 to Gitmo where the "terrorist" detainees are receiving free health care from our government with our tax dollars. He took these first responders to Gitmo because they couldn't afford to pay for the medical services they need and wanted to see if they could receive free medical care from our government. I thought it was great and it makes a very good point to show the hypocrisy of our system. Our medical system might be the greatest on earth but if only half of Americans can afford to use the service, it ain't so great. Health care should be non-profit and not run by business people who make millions a year for finding ways to deny people the services they are paying to receive.

I agree with michal moore about cuba being so much a better place to live than the USA. I can't understand why Cubans paddle through 90 miles of shark infested waters on an innertube to get away from such a fantastic country. Must be a bunch of brainwashed Neo-con nazis.

So are we torturing them or giving them the best healthcare? Which one is it?

I want to see it, too. Michael Moore is an excellent journalist with a dedication to exposing the truth regardless of who that might embarass, and he has a wonderful sense of humor. You can mark his success by the enemies who criticize him--either corrupt corporate or government officials or numbskulls.

I'll be going, and I'll continue to provoke others to rethink the benefits/detriments of America's present 'health care' system.
It's hard to believe that America still uses this archaic model when the rest of the modern world has gone to universal health care... and when the stats show that Americans are paying more and getting less... including reduced mortality compared with Canada, England, Sweden, etc.
What is it going to take to convince Americans that being sick and broke IS'NT patriotic?

There is no chance that I would waste my hard earned money to watch another movie put out by a man just to push his agenda by telling flat out lies and misguiding people. He is totally unbelievable. Sicko? He needs to just look in the mirror.
