If Inhofe really heard what he says he heard,we are in trouble in this country. Whether you are a liberal or republican, this should be alarming to you.

The answer is "NO", they shouldn't be able to "fix" talk radio. And the truth is that they won't. The Fairness issue has been unearthed in an effort to stir up the Right, who don't seem too keen on the Republican slate of candidates.

And let's be honest about this whole issue. Yes, the Left complains of the power of talk radio and the Right's SEEMINGLY stranglehold on all of the power. But the Right complains just as loudly about PUBLIC TELEVISION and have tried in vain since Reagan to DE-FUND (i.e. "kill") it. Bill Moyers is one of the favorite targets of the Right when complaining of the Left's dominate viewpoint from Public Television.

This is simply a FAR Right/Left squabble that neither side will "win"...and we Americans....won't lose.

Funny how the first ammendment has be pulled and stretched to incredible extremes to accomodate things the founding fathers never intended such as so called art, nude dancing, porno, shock jocks etc. but the one thing that was clearly intended to be protected, political speech, is now in peril. Perhaps if we could have Limbaugh, Hannity and Levin spanking women, while they discuss the issues of the day, it would then be protected speech. Or perhaps they could do a remote from some strip club.

The very essence of the 1st Amendment, which iterates the rights of the people to free speech and a free press (media in general), is that the government CANNOT infringe these rights at all.

Any attempt to censor talk radio, to demand "equal time" for political positions on private broadcasts, is despicable and intolerable and, if we value the Constitution, if we value liberty, if we value our rights and freedoms, those who espouse such odious ideas should be cast from any position of power they are in.

Because, it is a very short ideological step from mandating the expression of opinions by private broadcast companies, and shutting down opposition media, as Chavez has done, or imprisoning opposition journalists, like in Cuba or China, or outright murder of opposition press, as Putin has done.

No, any attempt by the government to impose editorial content into the media is a giant step towards tyranny, and should be recognized as such.

These two batches are trying to get rid of freedom of speech to stop what will happen in the 2010 election. Boxer and Clinton are not close, Boxer is getting on Hillary's nuts to help her, and she will no less raise money for Hillary in this election for president. Not. Boxer is running scared. Sounds great to me. We will fix this soon enough.

People listen to what they like. We know Hillary and Barbara aren't big fans of the open marketplace but they should leave radio to the experts.

No! Those are two women who love to make our country worse. They need to get over the fact that there is no market for their liberal garbage, and leave our rights alone.

Well I hope nobody is laughing about this! Our congress is dominated by those who butcher the constitution to fit their personal adjendas. This is what communism looks like in it's infancy. Everyone should be aware of this and take it VERY seriously!

If only Mrs. Clinton could fix and keep her own house in order? Before she alters mine any further it is hypocritical to say and do more in my opinion. No, and yes I am alarmed for sure. Thank you.
