Liberals are portrayed as the high minded generous poeple who care about the plight of the needy.

Conservatives it would seem are self absorbed in their own pursuit of wealth, mean spirited and unapoligetic.

Is this truth or is it a false stereotype? How do you find your facts?

I hear the Right throwing into our faces like it's the Liberals fault that the Republicans are home to the NeoCons?...they voted for them, they had no platform that the Democrats support...that's why they went to the Republican side...they were looking for a home and they let them in with open arms. Just because they had origins in the Democratic party, does not mean they are true believers of the ideology of most Democrats. They are anti-democrats, that's why the Republicans wanted their ideals.

I think that all this bs about saddam was dilibretaly made just before the elections for a purpose. that is to show that the republicans are making progress. Iraq is going to total hell now. Y couldnt they just keep him alive for the sake of their own country. Its gonna get torn no shreds now. He was a symbol for his people and the enemies (us) killed him. That meand trouble for America. What do you guys think?

why do you folks appear to be against spending any money on fellow citizens, like those on the Gulf Coast who really need America's help, or anyone less fortunate than yourselves for that matter, when you have no problem spending BILLIONS on war under the guise of keeping America safer, not safe, safer. The whole time our young people are getting killed off in a war that is impossible to win. You folks are greatly mistaken when you think anyone other than a republican, is some kind of commie lovin', liberal pacifists. Lastly do you folks really think you are the only people in America who work for a living? Should we start bringing out the body bags? There's going to be a lot of collateral damage Tuesday evening from George's policies.

Why are most liberals and ultra conservatives so predictable. Their rhetoric that I come across on the internet is always the same. It's as though they are scripted robots programmed by their political party's ideology. Anyone else notice this?

Latino-Voters and Democrats: What's up?

I do not condone hanging or murder of any kind.
But surely if it is right that Saddam Hussein should hang then, by the same token, it must be right that George Bush should hang.
Bush is the biggest mass murderer of all time.
He is responsible for countless deaths every day.
Surely, in justice and in fairness, he deserves hanging too?
Hopefully we are a more civilised society by now, and we can just lock them both up, and throw the key away.
The only other alternative is to hang them side by side.
But we could never justify taking a life.
We have no right to do that.
So hanging is not an option, in my view, for either of them.

My question is: has our media led to the decay of our society? Is present media (including internet sites such as this) been tainted or is tainting our perception of the world?

I just finished watching the movie about Edward R. Murrow and his fight with Sen. McCarthy and hearing the profound words of his & Mr. Friendly, it occured to me that they were so very right. In the special features of the film, it told of Mr. Morrow's death 6 years ago and how he had been completely disillusioned by the media of today.

This country 40-60 years ago certainly had a very militaristic government, individuals had less rights and the government seemed like a distant father who allowed only what he thought was appropriate to be out in the open...the media was very obliging in this, but also believed that the government was filled with mostly people of good intentions, and it probably was. Individualism and freedom was important to all Americans and the country was very patriotic.
