It's a responsibility for both sides US and Iraq the more quick and proper advanced steps in political and justice applied, the more security for Iraqies and American soldiers.
Being late till now that's the cause of the great loss of souls and that made the enemy more arranged and confident. If these steps three years earlier applied that may made them hopeless to get thier boss back to authority and made the bad people invest insecurity years for thier benefit and and create this great corruption.

I think you are right . Even though it was an Iraqi court that tried him , we will get the blame . If I was in Iraq on the day he is to be executed , I would be very afraid . As far as having a political impact I don't think much of one . I certainly haven't forgotten these two facts , that Saddam was not our target , it seems to me it was some guy named Bin , and secondly Iraq was a safer place for most Iraqi's before we invaded . It may have been messed up over there , but not this bad , even Saddam wasn't killing this many Iraqi's

I agree it was part of an election ploy, Bush needs all the help he can muster for the party. But Saddam isn't dead yet, and I really can't remember when, the so called civilized nations,(point of clarification: that means us) executed a Head of State. The Romanoffs in Russia circa 1917, Charles I in England , 1649 , Louis in France. But it's a dangerous precident for today's world, when you think of who else could be charged with war crimes.

why can't you people get it thorough your thick skulls?? THEY ARE HAPPY HE IS GOING TO DIE. SADDAM IS AN EVIL DICTATOR! they are grateful that we caught him (the normal Muslim cvilians, not the terrorists) and they are grateful that we handed down a guilty sentence. where have you been hiding? it's called Genocide, and for that, Saddam is not going to get a pat on the head, and be made to promise that he will never be a naughty boy again. Don't you bleeding heart liberals understand justice?? you claim to care for the little guy, the underdog, yet you want to put back in power the man who thinks he is God, and wants to kill everyone who does not agree with him. quit being a hypocrite! This is a GOOD thing! ask any family member of the millions Saddam killed.

Iraq has an appeals system , so if he does get hanged....it could take years!
If he is executed, Iraq could fall into major sectarian violance, and the US troops will be caught in the middle.
