why do you folks appear to be against spending any money on fellow citizens, like those on the Gulf Coast who really need America's help, or anyone less fortunate than yourselves for that matter, when you have no problem spending BILLIONS on war under the guise of keeping America safer, not safe, safer. The whole time our young people are getting killed off in a war that is impossible to win. You folks are greatly mistaken when you think anyone other than a republican, is some kind of commie lovin', liberal pacifists. Lastly do you folks really think you are the only people in America who work for a living? Should we start bringing out the body bags? There's going to be a lot of collateral damage Tuesday evening from George's policies.

I didn't mention I own my business, nor am I am liberal democrat. I happen to be an Independent. My swing vote is looking better and better for change in America. I'm getting the responses I expected, thanks for confirming my choices of how I will vote.

Those are two reasons why republicans will lose. They don't care at all about the middle class, and they can't even win any wars.

"why do you folks appear to be against spending any money on fellow citizens, like those on the Gulf Coast who really need America's help, or anyone less fortunate than yourselves for that matter"

To every action there is a reaction. When the government money is loose they will all come a runnin.

You will have many many unethical people devoting their best efforts to qualify for a handout. Why not have all the folks devoting their best efforts to the rebuilding process instead? Instead of giving them money, give them a job helping out. Whats wrong with that?

"when you have no problem spending BILLIONS on war under the guise of keeping America safer, not safe, safer. The whole time our young people are getting killed off in a war that is impossible to win."

It is only impossible if our hands are tied, and the lefties in this country have seen to that. Un-tie the hands, take off the gloves, iIts the media that is loosing this war, not the military.

"You folks are greatly mistaken when you think anyone other than a republican, is some kind of commie lovin', liberal pacifists."

I dont think that, I just think you're wrong, and the leftist leaders are the Commies.

"Lastly do you folks really think you are the only people in America who work for a living?"

Do you really think that if taxes were an optional donation, liberal workers would donate more than conservative workers?

"Should we start bringing out the body bags? There's going to be a lot of collateral damage Tuesday evening from George's policies."

We shall see. History is on your side, it shoud be an easy win for Democrats. But its not looking as easy as the media had been trying to portray it. I believe if the Republicans can keep control of the even Senate, that will have been a disaster for Democrats.

We are not against helping people in need, but the basic question comes down to personal responsibility. If you are told a disaster is coming and you choose to ignore it, who is to blame? As for our military, they are volunteers who believe in giving to the nation that provides them with everything Americans enjoy. Liberals think every problem can be solved by throwing huge sums of money at it. Of course they mean the 'Government's' money, which actually belongs to all of us. The other amusing thing is that the dumbocrats keep saying this is a referendum on Bush's policies, but Bush isn't running for anything! The truth is the libs have no answers to the problems except their tired old practice of raising taxes and trying to spend their way out of difficulty. The sad thing is the damage will be done to the U.S.A.

The problem is when the government spends money on anything it is extremely inefficient, and the average person feels they do not need to do anything because the Govt will take care of it and take care of me. That is one of the biggest problems in our society, when we see any injustice or bad thing happen the average person says "Wow that is horrible, 'someone' should do something about that, I pay my taxes I do my part, why doesn't 'someone' do something about that", "Oh well, I better run to the mall it is getting late, it may close soon" "Should I eat at Mcdonalds or Burgerking today Hmmmm", "Oh look at thse poor orphan animals on the news, the govt should do something about that, it is very sad" , "man I am starting to get fat, maybe the 'govt' , the FDA should look into what companies are putting into my food", "I lost my job the other day, the farm is cutting back, maybe I should write to the govt, my congressman to lobby congress to make farm subsidies, so I can keep my job", "Oh well I better hurry up and go to the mall and get that new pair of jeans for $100 that were made in a sweatshop for $2"

The average american could and has thought or said one or all of these things and many many many other stupid things, because the average person has a 'welfare mentality' that someone, the govt should provide for me my desires. (Dont even get me started on the Pyramid sceme called social security. If it was started with the same rules as a private company the owners would get thrown in jail so fast their heads would spin and be ridiculed for scamming people. But FDR is thought of as a humanitarian for creating it and every president and congress person has let it go on AS A VERY VERY VERY OBVIOUS PONZI SCEME. It mathematically could never work.)

So if you want to help your fellow man quit asking the govt to heal all our social ills, because govt was, is, has and always will be incapable of solving any of them.

Study health and nutrition, eat well take good vitamins and stay generally healthy.

Get a job or start a business you love, work hard at it, so no one can take it from you, and you can provide for yourself and your family.

Donate money to private organizations that measure their effectiveness in our world community and dont waste like governments do.

Educate yourself to be financilly literate, and invest for your retirement if you wish to have one. Quit spending money on liabilities like $100 jeans, and and $7 cups of coffee, purchase assets and make the world a better place one person at a time.

Vote Libertarinan to get the government out of our bodies, pocketbooks, Iraq and our lives. The federal governments sole responsablity as stated in the Constitution, is to protect our citizens, not to cure all our social ills, and not to start wars all over the world and get the entire world to hate us, and make America a more dangerous place, where we cant even take hair gel on a plane.

The answer to your question hinges on "why do you folks appear " not why are you actually, the Federal, State, County and Municipal governments are the ones that screwed up the situation along the Gulf, interfering with aid and mistreating the citizenry, so by all means let's take more money from the citizenry and give it to the governments to screw up more. Remember, the IRS is 50% efficient requiring half of what they take in to run themselves, then they take the remaining 50% over to the government which also take 50% of all it's funds to run itself so that at most 25% of taxes go to actually doing anything like helping people who lost there homes. Meanwhile privet charities had better resources available and were faster to respond using less money! If I paid less in taxes like most people I'd give more to charities while spending less to reward the governments that continue to fail the citizenry.

Nice rant. Ignorant, however. Spending money in Iraq is spending money on our citizens.

The real question is what do the dems plan? Hateful rhetoric and fear-mongering is all I've seen.
