In all seriousness, the president could declare some form of martial law after another 9/11 type event. He could therefore remain in power indefinitely.
He has already subverted the Constitution. Anyone can be declared an enemy cobatant by the Presdient. And once charged, the laws of Habeus Corpus and your right to a fair trial, an attorney, even the right to know what you have been charged with...
have all been thrown to the pigeons.
Along with the pigeons are the sheeple who feed and stuff themsleves with ignorance. Watch them. Watch in this forum how they defend their leader. Watch how they dogmatically defend Bush. Watch as they attack Bush critics with a religious fantacism reminiscent of those who violently opposed the Danish cartoonists for portraying Allah.
See how they never admit any wrongdoing by Bush. See how they think of Bush as infallible...like a pope...like a god.
A 3rd term is possible. Bush said himself that the constitution is "just a goddamned piece of paper."

That has only happened once in the history of the country.
That was Franklin Delano Rosavelt during the secant World War and I do not feel that this continuing war on terror is the same thing.

Contrary to what most people believe, there is nothing to stop him.All our founding Fathers specify is that he win the election. Limiting to two terms is more of a tradition than anything. What would I do ? Vote against him.(Unless the demos run someone like Kerry again.)

Yes, it could happen, but it's really not an issue now... I hope. 2 years ago, they had contingency plans to delay the election in case of a terror strike like the one in Madrid. The idea didn't test well in focus groups.

He can declare himself all he wants, that doesn't mean it will happen. But if people went along with it, that's when we would know that we no longer have any control and that the constitution doesn't matter to these people.

The conservative extremists have already thrown away the constition, so it wouldn't surprise me at all.
Bush would never get elected to a 3rd term, so he could just end the election process, and keep himself in power.

I don't think it's possible. I don't like Bush, but if it did happen you might see civil war on some level in America because it would no longer be a democracy

I'd have Canada declare war on the US. *grin*
Gosh. That would be frightening. Good luck to you decent Americans if that ever happens.

Even now I say Down with Dictator Dumbya!!! Ending habeas is one of those "can't happen" events. IF it happened it would just reinforce what I think today.
