INDIA is passing through a period wherein i feel the central government is very weak just because of its own allies.anyways the congress has done nothing good for the country in the first fifty years of independence.the only things that we have got from congress rule is corruption and lethargy in government institutions and a social divide between the different castes and religious groups.so i want to know what others actually feel about the current situation.

They don't have the balls to say what their program would be. Example: they are critical of Bush's war effort but have no concrete solutions to offer. The stock market is booming but they say that only helps a wealthy few? Didn't say that when Clinton was in office.

Air America filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy October 13, 2006. They vow to valiantly remain on the airwaves in case somebody accidentally tunes in, but I fear it’s only a matter of time before they hang up their microphones for good. It is truly a sad day for Free Speech in this country. Air America was a vital educational resource, so it should have been completely taxpayer-funded instead of forced to compete for listeners on the open market. Once again, the GOP has used capitalism to silence the lone liberal voice in the conservative-dominated radio wilderness. Who was really responsible for Air America's downfall? George Bush? The GOP Machine? Mark Foley?

What is up with Clinton saying 'we just need to do what Brazil did'?
Don't get me wrong. I want the US to move to Ethanol too but he is saying "and it will save 33% on gas priceses". This is just wrong. In Brazil gas costs over $4.00 per gallon. You would use 30% more Ethanol to go a mile in a car (versus gas). How can you stop this dissinformation?

Numbers don't lie, specially the ones provided by the FBI, DOJ and Census that show blacks making up 13% of the population, yet being responsible for about 50% of crime. Now it is obvious to me that social programs are really not working. Too many take advantage of it, and this creates economical problems that lead people into crime. So I will write my congressman with suggestions as part of my solution to all this, though I would like to know from you what the problems in social programs are and how they can be fixed to provide a better chance to these people.

In discussions and debates dealing with stem cell research, I've heard abortion brought up. I don't understand what abortion has to do with stem cell research.

Embryonic stem cells are made during the In Veto Fertilization process. They use the strongest to proceed with the process and the rest are destroyed or kept preserved indefinitely. One main debate is to use these for research or not. But the embryonic stem cells are never inside a uterus. The definition of an abortion is the destruction of a fetus inside a uterus. So it seems to me that embryonic stem cell research has nothing to so with abortion, just the destruction of embryos outside of a uterus. Am I missing something?

Yahoo News:
"U.S. and Iraqi forces raided the stronghold of a Shiite militia led by a radical anti-American cleric in search of a death squad leader in an operation disavowed by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

Al-Maliki, who relies on political support from the cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, said the strike against a figure in al-Sadr's Mahdi militia in Sadr City "will not be repeated."

The defiant al-Maliki also slammed the top U.S. military and diplomatic representatives in Iraq

The term "anti-American" is now being used in articles that describe Iraqi insurgents who oppose the continued U.S. military presence in what used to be their country. If you're an American and you oppose the use of the U.S. military to continue carrying out operations in Iraq that kill civilians at will and that create more and more mass destruction, does that mean you're not a "true" American? In other words, is it only the "true" Americans who support war and the use of aggression as a means to an end, and the others are all anti-American?

Please, Yes or No -- AND WHY?

When you are called by a pollster in the next two weeks, LIE TO THEM. Tell them the exact opposite of who you plan to vote for.

This will result in a much larger margin of error in the polls, if enough people do this.

The result will be more principled positions from the politicians as they generally watch the polls and spin their message to match the poll numbers.

If the polls become less useful to them, some (the smart ones) will state their position and win or lose based on their ideas, not the poll numbers.
