Yesterday, I saw the film "Jesus Camp", which is a documentary about an Evangelical Christian camp for kids run by a youth minister named Becky Fischer. Every year, kids from around the country are sent to this camp in North Dakota to be indoctrinated by Fischer. At one point in the film, Fischer tells a radio talk show host that she doesn't show any political preferences, but other parts of the film show that she is lying. For one thing, Fischer says that she thinks that what Bush has done has been good for Evangelicals. At one point, a camp staff member brings out a life-size cardboard cut-out of George W. Bush and has the kids say prayers for him. Also, another staffer brings out models of fetuses so that he can use them in a presentation to convince the kids, who are often as young as 7 or 8, that abortion is wrong and tells them that it's their responsibility to fight against it. There's no indication that the kids are being taught values such as love and compassion.

That would be a bang

am i right in thinking that if you break a guy's legs then a Democrat will believe anything that guy says out of overcompassion and naivity? maybe the next conservative presidential candidate should be have his arms and legs broken, a hemorrhoid, and yellow teeth to get votes from the left. o ya and he should start a government program to prevent these cases to further appease the voters from the left.

So what has he done?

This guy is slick. He believes eveything the screaming, wall climbing liberals do, he just doesn't look like an idiot on the surface.

why do democrats use sick or disabled people to get their agenda out, and then if someone disagrees with what the individual say, then the Dems accuse you of "attacking" the individual for being sick/disabled and being cruel. i have never seen the Reps do this. examples: cindy sheehan, max cleland, chris reeve, possibly michael j. fox. when the Dems *use* these people, you are expected to agree with *everything* they say or else you are "attacking" them and you have no morals, and youre cruel.
nice tactics these democrats use.
whats more is ill probably get these liberals who tell me that Reps dont care about sick/disabled people, which is worth about as much as the race card or class warfare. this overcompassion, or virtual overcompassion is wussifying America. i bet the Dems think we should have asked iraq if we can fight the war on terror on their land before we attacked, because its *nicer* that way.

My thoughts

Clinton - Made the world a secure and safer place.
Bush - Made the world very hostile and dangerous.

Clinton - Made the world love america
Bush - Made the world dislike america

Clinton - Talks to people like they are human beings
Bush - talks to people like they are monkey

Clinton is very smart and articulate.
Bush is not very smart and articulate.

Be sensible about this and really think about it before answering.

Will things be a lot better or a lot worse at the end of that decade? Why (give reasons if you can). I believe it is highly possible that the GOP could surprise and keep winning even thought I am a Dem. In this event I would like to have some understanding of the next 12 years GOP agenda.

As a moderate, I expect the government to provide a few competently delivered services like, a school system, water and waste treatment, roads and airports, and a strong national defense. I look to elect officials who will run the affairs of state, balance the budget, and streamline the government.
I look for more power ceded to the community level. I think matters like abortion and gay rights should be settled at state level and not federal level. Welfare should be funded at the federal level but managed at the county level by an elected board, similar to the school system. I expect the governement to stay out of my personal business, and keep its hand out of my pocket.
As a liberal or conservative, what do you expect from government? Please don't answer for any viewpoint other than your own.
