The Repubs. will retain both the house and the senate, because they will win many key elections. Like in MO and others. I live in MO and have been watching the race. Polls make it seem closer than it actually is, but Talent is in the lead in people's hearts but is falling in the polls. Polls do not mean anything. Also, with the abandoning of Lieberman, the moderate liberal base will side Republican. Also, and Independent movement will strike up due to fallacies found in both parties.
Senate - 54 Repubs., 44 Dems., 2 Ind.
House - 243 Repubs, 189 Dems, 3 Ind.

Democrats will control the house by a 6 - 10 seat margin.
Senate will most likely be a 50-50 split (counting the two indies as Dems).

My crystal ball is cloudy...but there is a good chance that the Democrats will get a shot at controlling the House.
I suspect the Senate will remain about the same.
Personally, at this point in American history, I advocate cleaning House and Senate, too!

I think the Democrats will control the house by a narrow margin and the republicans will keep the senate, also by a narrow margin.

Look at 'America Votes 2006' (Google it) via CNN, it shows you what races are advantageous to Republicans and Democrats and which are toss-ups. It also show you what will happen if Dems win all the toss ups and vice versa. You can see for Senate, House, and Gubernatorial.

Could we hope for a group that are not dumber than a post.
I just wish I knew who that could be. I know it's not the leadership of either party we have there now.
I'm beginning to wonder if there is some IQ test these guys/gals take and only the ones that fail get elected to the leadership positions.

I feel that the GOP retains the leads in both, but the margin is so slim (Senate 50-49 with one independant; House 218-217), that the moderates will be actively courted by both sides
