I am a Republican. The reasons that I am a Republican is that I believe in the Second Amendment, strong military, the least government intrusion as possible. For the most part I believe the Republicans do a better job with these values than the Democrats do.
I am actually fairly liberal on many social issues but I believe the above issues are more important. I have voted for Democrats, I always vote for the person who best represents my values, they are usually Republican. I may vote for Democrat Brad Henry for Governor of Oklahoma.

Independent. I have voted for both Republican and Democrat in my lifetime, and once for an Independent Mr. Ross Perot. I think I stand pretty much as a moderate; in that I believe extreme conservatism is equally as bad as liberalism, and in the middle the choices are more than choosing either Republican or Democrat.
Values. I give a few
1. Same Sex Marriage - No
2. Legal Rights for Couples of the Same Sex - Yes
3. Afghanistan - Yes
4. Iraq - No (We should of made the U.N. do their job first)
5. Increase of Border Patrol Officers - Yes
6. National Guard to support Border Patrol - Yes
7. Wall on US - Mexico Boarder - No
8. Illegal Immigrants - Send Back
9. Legal Immigrants - After 7 years, no criminal record can be qualified for US Citizenship.
10. Presidents Bush's Policies - Extreme, ineffective, lack diplomacy, no strategic foundation, poor judgement.

democrat.. although the current leading party isn't a good representation of a traditional republican, they alone should be reason enough for most to vote democrat to balance out the damage done. other than that, i believe that everyone should have to pay fair taxes and i don't consider tax brakes for the rich fair.. I'm not saying tax them till they are poor, they are rich.. most of them earned it.. let them stay rich.. but a few more % isn't going to break them and it will help the country greatly.. why should the middle class pay a higher % than the wealthy? make everyone pay the same % in my opinion.. call it the price to live in this country. I'm straight, but i don't think it's any of my or anyone else business who other people want to be with.. if you don't think it's ethical fine, that's your opinion and you are welcome to it.. but that is between them and your version of God ... and who are we to try and play God's role in judgment? there are many other reasons why I'm a democrat.. but it would take all day to go threw them all so if you want some more, just let me know.

What does values have to do with politics? Get in the stream of reality and ask the values your banker, stock broker, mechanic. As long as they do there job. No difference, why would you let anyone else qualify values especially politics?

I am a liberal democrat.Very liberal.
I support gay marriage,I am pro choice. I am in favor of the right kind of social programs, not welfare for life. I do not support no child left behind and feel it is a crock. I feel marriage is mocked in this country and choose not to marry until all those who wish to can. I belive in Christ as saviour, but also find the religion of Islam to be interesting and very close to my own religion. I do not support the war on terror because I feel we are being lied to about who is and isnt a terrorist.I do not support Israels right to be a country. I do support other countries rights to oppose US foreign policy when they feel it is wrong.
Our country could go a long way towards making ammends if it would simply apologize for all the wrongs it has committed to other countries. I feel that most countries do not wish to actually destroy us as they would mean the end of them, who wants mutual destruction. I feel we villify what we dont understand in this country nor do we make an attempt to understand it.

I like to say I am a Registered Rep who votes independently....I am pretty conservative on most issues( I am against abortion, I think we should protect traditional marriage, I think we need to finish the job in Iraq)....but at the same time if my party does not offer anyone I like the I will not hesitate for vote Dem or even third party....People have to be flexible...you should not vote strictly on party lines....don't vote for a Rep just because you are a Rep....same for the Dems....you have to vote issues not party....I am Rep. because I agree with them most of the time, but on occasion I will go outside the line....I have before and I will again....so...

Don't get me wrong, the party has a lot of issues.. but I'm a democrat. They just believe in that things I believe in... equal rights, gay rights, keeping abortion safe and legal, gaining universal health care... I'm just tired of the religious right running this country, not everyone's a christian in america but they wanna run the country as if we all were. It's sad.
