some folks in these forums say that corporal punishment is a good thing- personally I think it makes the problem infect future generations with similar attitudes -

so if YOU were beaten or psychologically abused in torture- maybe as a mistaken innocent or not- would you be mad, hurt, angry, looking for revenge later in life?

When do human beings start to turn away from the downward spiral- or do we just destroy each other to the ultimate dimise of civilization?

my teacher asked my class to debate on whether we should force people to take tests before they can vote which would determine whether they could vote (so that they are fimilar to the with the main issues of the election). I thought it would spark a nice debate so i wanted to ask the opinon of other people.

Yeah everyone can agree we want to prevent future attacks but how would you go about doing it? I'm looking for ideas from both republians and democrats. If you don't agree with what Bush is doing (alot of people feel that way) then explain what you would do different if you were president?

Have you listened to the remarks of Jimmy Carter?
Many say Carter is now suffering from Dementia.

Carter's Presidency was the worst on recorded history next to Bill Clinton and yet Dems deny it and suffer from the delusion that they are somehow America's voice of reason???

Democrat Bill Reynolds had sex with a Congressional Page.

Bill Clinton inserted "cigars" into the vagina of Monica Lewinsky a 20 year old "Intern" at the time in the Oval office no less!

Congressman Jerry Studds had sex with as 17 year old taking advantage of that intern and got a standing ovation from his Party members when he finished his term!! ...

So we have the Dems outcry against Republicans and their selective memory is astounding nonetheless!

Clinton commuted a sentence of that Congressman that had sex with a 17 year old, so where is their Moral outrage..where are their morals period!

Foley is wrong but he is gone ... he did not retain his seat as his Democratic counterparts did!

It's Exactly the same as if Rush Limbaugh wrote a book right before the eletion Slamming Libs. He Might just have an AGENDA. WHY can't politicians simply run on there records rather than Smear campaigns and see who can cut there opponent the deepest. Its Sick Stupid BS politics.

Turns out, Mark Foley drinks and is now seeking help for alcoholism.

A little while back, The New York Times ran a weepy story about Patrick Kennedy, how he's "four months sober" and junk. (You'll recall, he was caught driving while under the influence last spring.) The story was some kind of "triumph of the human spirit" crap.

I wonder if, after Foley is four months sober, the New York Times will run a similar piece on him? That would be around end of January, beginning of February of next year. Let's wait and see. What do you think?

I'm sure this will invite harsh replies. This is a question for conservatives.

After this October Suprise, the Abramof scandal, Tom DeLay, etc. how much of a chance is there for the party to return to the hands of Goldwater or Libertarian conservatives? Something needs to be done... and the answer certainly isn't supporting the Democratic (aka Communist) party.

There seem to be a lot of memory-loss related to documented events in Bob Woodwards book, and despite warning Foley - they didn't know what they were warning him over?

Ronald Kessler

WASHINGTON -- In the past week, Karl Rove has been promising Republican insiders an "October surprise" to help win the November congressional elections.

"Rove is not saying what the October surprise will be", writes Kessler

****What could it be?

Days before the 2004 presidential election, an Osama Bin Laden videotape gave Bush the six point surge he needed to overtake John Kerry and snatch the White House.

According to a book written by Bill Sammon, Senior White House Correspondent for the Washington Examiner, Bush attributed his 2004 victory over John Kerry in part to a Osama bin Laden videotape released on the eve of the election.

Imagine if Condoleeza Rice went into the national archives while the 9-11 Commission was investiging how the Bush Administration handled itself prior to the attacks and not only removed classified documents by stuffing them in her underwear, but actually destroyed them. This is precisely what Sandy Berger, National Security Advisor under Bill Clinton, did.
