I'm sure this will invite harsh replies. This is a question for conservatives.

After this October Suprise, the Abramof scandal, Tom DeLay, etc. how much of a chance is there for the party to return to the hands of Goldwater or Libertarian conservatives? Something needs to be done... and the answer certainly isn't supporting the Democratic (aka Communist) party.

Pryce. You apparantly do not know what the hell I'm talking about. How many Goldwater or Libertarian-wing republicans are in power? I'd say there are more Rockefeller (old money) Republicans in power than small government types. The party is mostly built around a social conservative voting bloc. Bush is not a conservative. He's a big government liberal who occasionally appeases social conservatives.

Politics is getting pretty nasty now that the elections are close. The Democratic war machine is definitely gearing up, and using even old stuff to gin up hatred for the Republicans. I do agree that a house cleaning is in order though, and people like Foley need to be swept out.

ok... now let me tell you a little something about revolution. A revolution is when a group of oppressed people stand up and revolt either peacefully or violently, depending on the historical event, and ultimately achieve what they were fighting for in the end and let me say that the republican party has done anything but that. The only thing that you conservatives have managed to do is make fools of yourselfs and show your incapability of running this country. You have brought us into a war that was not only ILLEGAL but also expensive. Revolution.... you wish.... you haven't won nor have you achieved anything for yourselfs accept a bad reputation. And that is streight from the lips of a democratic "communist"

I think both parties need a shakeup. Lately the policies of both have become so nebulous from attack stemming from both sides, that the titles of political parties are useless. What we need is a leader that represents not only the popular feeling of America, but the popular feeling of all humanity. Our President doesn't just affect US; look at all the countries we've aided, fought, boycotted, raided, invaded, etc. over the past 50 years.

So let's stop this mud-slinging and reinstate America as the dominant super power that it should be.

I am not a republican because their causes are mostly against freedom and the American way of life I grew up with. But as a patriotic American I would welcome the republicans reigning in their radicals. If both parties would be less extreme and move closer to the middle maybe we could all work together and accomplish some good for a change.

most definitely but if you want to start a change you have to start at the roots
elect libertarian governors and city councils
then senators then when we have a firm base go for the presidency.
